The stand that holds this 10 watt solar panel is nothing short of excellent. It was a little tricky to set up in part because the directions are a bit confusing. They mention what the parts are but they don't quite explain which part goes where in an easy to understand manner. This may seem silly to them but this is not my first rodeo when it comes to setting up solar panels. The best part of this is how easy it is to arrange and secure the direction the panel needs to be facing. This is not easy with some fixed bracket systems. This gets around all of that. I set this up on the railing to my porch facing due south at an approximate 30° angle. The battery is being charged beautifully. If they ever come up with a 25 watt solar panel with the same bracket I would easily buy two to three more. To me the support bracket is the major selling point. The ball joint that they've included is not cheap by any means and holds everything perfectly still. It comes with an allen wrench that allows the user to fix it in place exactly where you think you'll get the most sunlight. I still may buy another one but I just wish the panel was at around 25 watts. ... show more

I put this on my boat dock to charge up my aux battery on my tritoon. Had to make a braket so it would fit on the pole. It worked all summer, even when it was cloudy. If its in direct sunlight it charges really good. But when its cloudy it still charges but slower. Still, it beats bringing out an extention cord. It went through a few storms and it held up great. I have purchased this Sunerpower solar powered trickle charger to charge my boat battery off-season without removing the battery and putting it on a battery tender in the garage as I used to. I had been using the Deltran 15w Battery Tender solar trickle charger ($140) until a tree branch fell down and shattered its glass. This unit looked appealing due to the more traditional solar panel mount, which as you can see in my picture is on a tree next to the boat. I like that I can bend the bracket to fit the tree and angle the charger up to the sun. Upon installation, as many other reviewers have commented, the charge light was solid red indicating reversed polarity to the wires. My boat battery is connected with standard SAE connectors and extension cables (red+, black-) and I never had an issue with the Deltran. According to my volt meter, those wires read -12.86V, so it's actually the SAE extension cable reversing the polarity not the Sunerpower unit itself. To fix this there are three options: reverse the leads at the battery so that the red+ is on the negative battery terminal and vise versa; purchase a SAE reverse polarity adapter off Amazon ($6 for two); or use the included cables that come with the Sunerpower unit. As I didn't want the hassle of undoing my winterized boat cover to get to the battery and considering I prefer to use the extension cables exactly as they are, I chose the cheap Amazon adapter (see picture of tree) which arrived in 1 day. Immediately the charger was fast blinking red indicating active charge, and within a day with decent sunlight, the charger turned green indicating a full charge to the boat battery (see picture). What more could I ask for? So buyer do note that this unit is quite simple and nice and hopefully sufficient to charge and maintain a single deep cell battery, and I like the ability to view the charge status underneath which I couldn't do with the Deltran unit. But unless you use the supplied cables, you will most likely need to reverse the polarity on the wires which is a very simple fix. PURCHASE THIS UNIT WITH A SAE REVERSE POLARITY ADAPTER. **Another Update** I have been trying to reach them about my refund on four of these i bought. They said they were refunding me and I still have not heard from them. Probably some over seas company. **Update** CS emailed me and said they were refunding me for the defective solar panels then ghosted me and closed the comments. Never received any refund. ***BEWARE*** These do NOT shut off! I bought two of these and both of them fried my wiring and batteries. Had to remove them and replace wiring and batteries. Glad I happened to go out and check on them and smelled something burning. I do not recommend these as they do NOT monitor the battery status keeping them from overcharging. This was all brand new stuff that got cooked. ... show more
