I am an old school certified audio installer from back in the 80's and 90's, but changed careers years ago. So I know more than your average joe about 12volt audio. This little 5ch Class D amp is really amazing for being 1800w and under $500. I used it to replace the fusion 4ch that came from the factory with my boat. It sounded good, but it was running four, 6.5 in Speakers and a single 10"sub. I needed more power on the 6.5's and more subs. After watching multiple youtube videos bench testing this amp, it looked like a great performer. After installing it and tuning everything, I added additional 6.5 in speakers. (now running 4 on front channel at a total of 2ohm, and 4 on the back channel doing the same. The sub channel is now driving three 10" subwoofers at a total load of 1.33ohms. All I can say is well done Sundown Audio. The bass hits very hard, the highs are loud and crisp with clean mids, and even running at high volume sitting at anchor in 90F heat, it has not given me a single thermal shutdown. (the Fusion amp did that many times running an easier load) The remote bass knob with the clipping indicator is just a bonus for keeping things nice and clean. I just bought sundown sfb 1800.5 I owed the Rockford fosgate punch 1000.5 I gotta be honest here sundown kick Rockford butt all away around. I loved Rockford and I sometimes pays to try new. If you buy the sundown sfb 1800.5D you will not be disappointed so I went from Orion amp to infinity to Rockford and finally sundown I can't believe how good and clear and loud this amp is it the best amp I found buy far you don't have to take my word for it but it's you that will miss out only bad thing is you have to buy speakers that can handle this amp or keep your gains really turned down or they will blow I know ... show more

I was expecting the best from this amplifier but unfortunately it came out defective it goes to clip and protection mode without having connected the speakers it was installed in two different cars to find out if the problem was the car but in both it had the same problem

I like this amp the power and how it can run a Sub and your highs and mids, in my case only wanted it for my highs and mids it is a Class D amp My installer didn’t want to use it , so I got a 1000watt Skar AB amp , now I’m stuck with this amp
