Thin and ligth retrofits, with adjustable color temperature. Work well with dimmers. I like it that the light is set back from the rim, so they do not cast quite as wide a beam as those where the rim is level with the light. No wiring box, these have an adapter that screws into an existing bulb socket. Given that these are strictly retrofits for an existing can, where you should have plenty of depth, the fact that they are so thin and lite does not really buy you anyting. The Rim is polyamide Good warranty, (7 years) . Some older style cans may not have spring brackets, you can buy those inexpensively. If that is your case, installing the brackets for the springs is the majority of the work you need to do. If you have the brackets on your cans already, these would go in quick and easy. When these wear out, they are said to dim, and the whole thing needs to be replaced, so buy a few extras to have the mathing look available for any replacement you need. They are inexpensive, so threat those as you would spare lightbulbs. In a few years, you may not be able to find the exact same thing, these companies come and go. ... show more

This is the way to go. I had old light covers that were turning brown from age. Plus I didn’t like how the light stuck out from the bottom. I replaced all my lights with these and they are perfect. I bought these to replace/upgrade some old can lights in our house after a renovation project installed new LEDs in other parts of the house. I selected these because of their cost/value, color temperature (3000k warm, but bright white), and their appearance...enough recess/detail to the fixture to not scream "cheap". I installed all 12 myself, replacing 1970s cans...6 in one room, 4 in another, and 2 in various locations. I could not be more please with the result/outcome...each unit took 2-4 minutes to replace, tops, and the lights look great whether off or on. It is so nice to have uniform look and output from overheads, instead of hot, bulky, inconsistent old can lights. I cannot recommend these highly enough if you are looking to upgrade. ... show more

Replace a set of ceiling lights with this one. Removed the existing bulb and shroud of the old ceiling lights. The spring clips on this went into the 'tabs' of the existing 'cylinder' and snapped into place perfectly. Looks beautiful with no gaps. I liked how the temperature/brightness of the light could be adjusted to provide a perfect lighting/ambiance for the kitchen. Saved energy by using these lights. ... show more

I installed the first dozen of these retrofits last night and was pleased enough that I ordered another dozen for the rest of the house. I have a mix of 20-year old incandescent and slightly less old CFL BR30 bulbs all over the house that I have been neglecting for a long time. Now with the solar system in place, I pay more attention to energy consumption, and these 100W bulbs in larger numbers definitely show up on the charts. The LED lights were easy to install and fit snugly (but are not air-tight). The adjustable temperature is a great feature, but when you install a larger number, there will inevitable be a few were you did not set the color correctly before pushing it into the can. I had to pull two out again to adjust the setting, which was not as easy as one would hope. They work fine with the old dimmers, bit I noticed flickering with only a single fixture in a circuit with a dimmer. Not an issue with 2 or more. Otherwise, no complaint, looking forward to swapping out the remaining lights. ... show more

These work well so far - as a replacement for old can lights. The housing is pretty thin plastic and not much of a heatsink, so not sure longevity, but cheap - so can't expect too much more. Color adjustment is good.
