I bought this blanket in January exactly 1 year ago. It just stopped working BUT that is after running continuously since the purchase. I have cold feet and keep it on low even during the summer ! Also I've rolled the bed frame over the cord dozens of times accidentally! I highly recommend this blanket. It is soft , warm and stays on unless I turn it off. The heat distribution isn't co distant with some areas warmer than others but I find that with all of them. ... show more

I'd begun this with a 4 star rating, but after over a month's use I bumped it down a star. The good: Blanket is comfortable and there's little interference from the built-in heating wires. On some blankets the wires are clearly seen. Not so with this. Also, the controls are easy to use and understand. Press the power button to start up using previous settings. Adjustments are made for temperature with the button the left and timer settings with the button on the right. The issues: The controls make a loud clicking sound. Best to set everything up before you go to sleep because if you decide to turn it on or change it during the night you most likely will wake up your partner. (I know from experience!) It's loud! Think one of those party clickers. The other main problem is temperature variation over time. When I first used the blanked, a "2" setting was fine. I now start with a "5" but maybe an hour or two later I'll wake up very hot and turn it off or back down to "2". The house thermostat has stayed the same. Another issue is that the power light stays on (although dim) once the timer stops. At first I was thinking I'd somehow left the blanket on until I realized it was just how it works. You can turn the light off by pressing the power button. Not sure why the light can't just stay off when the blanket is off, but it is what it is. A lesser issue is the thinness of the blanket. The difference is noticeable by comparison to my old Sunbeam blanket that this one replaced. It may be an advantage in the summer, but for the winter I've added another thin blanket on top of this. ... show more

This blanket is so warm! It allows you to stay warm without be HOT Most heated blankets I have had will make you hot, not warm. Even on low settings I used the 6th setting and it was the perfect warmth for me When it was -25 Degrees with -30 wind chills. It kept me warm all night, I will say that it feels a bit like blanket fabric you would buy at the fabric store to use to make a tie blanket But besides that super nice! It’s big and fits my twin size bed great! Worth the money in my opinion ... show more

    • Wide unheated strip down the middle of this blanket. Not mentioned in description but.......

I was so pleased to find this blanket as it was the closest type of fabric to the blanket we just wore out. I didn't want sherpa backing or the slippery fleece but the more solid flannel blanket type fabric. Everything seemed perfect as we climbed into bed for the first with it preheated to a higher number on our cold freezing night in the 20's. Everything seemed perfect UNTIL I stretched out and my foot and leg hit a very cold strip of bedding right down the middle. Every time I rolled over and felt that icy cold strip, I woke up. As I looked the next morning, sure enough, there is a 14" strip down the middle of the blanket from head to foot with no wires which means no heat. What????? I looked closer at the photos in the Amazon item description and sure enough, there it was. One very broad strip with no wires for heating. NO WHERE in the written description was that mentioned. And I would have had to magnify the photo to see it. I was preparing to return the blanket with a strong feedback to mention that unheated area isn't mentioned in the description of the item. After another night sleeping under it, I realized that I hadn't felt an elbow hitting my head or shoulder during the night. No knee was "trespassing" to my side and hitting me in the hip. And no foot with a sharp toenail hitting my leg or ankle. Hmmmm.....that "cold zone" kept "someone" on his side of the bed. One more night went by and I realized I really liked that "'stay in your lane" unheated strip in the middle of the blanket. It's a keeper. The only thing I would change, if I could, would be for the controls to be a style that stands up so I could easily read it from a laying down position in the middle of the night. I've had several e-blankets over the yrs, on many different beds, and believe Sunbeam brand are some of the best thought-out designed! I had another "sherpa eblanket days before this and its cord from the eblanket to the controller was ridiculously short, and, several similar eblankets on amzn had complaints against those blankets. The cord on this Sunbeam (Full size, in my case) was very long, thankfully! As for heating, it does heat quickly, even on levels like 2, 3 or 4, which are low levels. The heating does seem to be well spread out, on this blanket. The bottom of blanket has an area without wires, But, it does have a wire running horizontally at very bottom, right before blanket falls over end of the bed. This seems to work out well and feet still receive nice heat. I am very happy I returned the $25-27 sherpa, white/charcoal gray, and bought this blanket. In addition, Sunbeam brand is normally considered one of the best designers of e-blankets, with over 50-60 yrs experience, i do believe. Give it a try! Thx! ... show more
