This is an outstanding electric blanket It’s lightweight. I know some people might not like the fact that the controls or combined their not separate. I was a little bummed about it at first too, but I love the fact that it heats up quickly. I haven’t had one issue with it. It washes great I’ll put it in the dryer for about 20 minutes it’s dry. I love it and I even put it on the bed without the controls. I don’t have any complaints if I had to buy it all over again I would. The moment I put this blanket on my bed I had a feeling that I was going to love it. It was so soft to the touch, it honestly feels like an extremely soft fleecy material. It doesn't get super cold where I live, however I have been able to use my gas heater a lot less! The color I got was Beige, I have a white comforter so I decided to go with a litter color and I'm happy that I did. It has two connected controllers that sit on each side of the bed. I put mine on each nightstand and they are so easy to use, I really like that it has a choice of 1 to 10 hour shut off timer! It gives me peace of mind when I go to sleep that it will shut off on it's own. OMGoodness! I cannot believe I have waited so long to get an electric blanket! I love this thing. After doing a considerable amount of comparison shopping, I decided to go with this one. Here are the reasons: 1. The price 2. The name (sunbeam) 3. The function (dual controls, timer.. It has other functions but these are the ones that sold me) 4. 5 YEAR WARRANTY!!! 5. The color choices 6. The material ( velvet) it is sooooo soft and smooth! Now, some reviewers stated they could feel the wires and felt that overall the blanket was "thin". It is true that the wires can be felt. I know there are blankets that advertise to have very small wires to where you can't feel them. Maybe that is the case but I'm not going to pay extra money to not feel wires in an ELECTRIC blanket. Now the thinness, that is true as well. Even though it is electric you would expect it to have more of a thickness to it, but because I have layers of covers on my bed. ( love the cozy feel) it doesn't bother me. I'm assuming that because it is on the thin or light weight side, that's probably why the wires are so noticeable...not certain. But anyway, regardless of that, I just absolutely love getting in the bed and the sheets are nice and toasty for me!!! No more cold sheets on this body...lol.     • Controls are hard to use in the dark. Works well otherwise.

We like the color, the texture, the generous size. When the controls are set correctly, the blanket heats appropriately, auto turns off when it's supposed to, etc. We don't like the fact that the buttons are nearly flush with the face of the control. It's very hard to feel the location of the buttons in the dark and they don't light up as a way of helping the user. Also, I'm sure the directions are translated to English from another language and the instructions are difficult to make sense of. My husband and I are both engineers with a lot of experience reading (and writing) user instructions. These could be MUCH clearer. Eventually, we figured them out but it took much longer than one would expect and we had to hold the control in hand while sorting out the instructions. In the subcategory of "Temperature Control", I put 4 stars. The physical device and the written instructions would be 2 or a 3; the actual resulting temperature (when set correctly) is a 5. ... show more

If you’re going to use this electric blanket, you make sure that you have another blanket underneath it. The material is quite thin. The wires are very thick. I’m sending mine back because I feel like if I get underneath it, my whole body might be electrocuted.

Absolutely outstanding quality. THIS IS THE ONLY QUALITY ELECTRIC BLANKET ON THE MARKET. I had a Sunbeam electric blanket for at least 15 years and it was perfect. I had to buy another electric blanket and checked out multiple brands in multiple stores, including Sunbeam. This Sunbeam Royal Posh Velvet on Amazon is THE BEST QUALITY FABRIC on the market and I have used it throughout the Fall 2025 and Winter 2026 season, which was freezing here in Connecticut. All the others electric blankets have poor quality fabrics which are awful to the touch and cheap in appearance. Cord length and location of the cord connector on an electric blanket are two very important factors when purchasing an electric blanket. You must buy an electric blanket with the longest length cord so you can get it into any outlet you want it to reach to. The cord length of this blanket is the perfect length. The location of the cord connector is located on the bottom center of the blanket which is the perfect and correct location, not on the left or right and corners as with other electric blankets on the market. The heating quality is EXCELLENT. This blanket is so perfect that I not only purchased and kept this one, but I purchased the exact same blanket just in case the manufacturer ever stopped making this particular style. In order to be more helpful to prospective consumers, I strongly encourage you to evaluate the color of any blankets you are considering. I bought this three years ago. It was fine for a while. Yesterday it completely stopped working. It could not be reset. It just stopped warming. A not-cheap electric blanket like this should have a longer life.
