I read other reviews that said the blanket was slippery and would slide off the bed. I dismissed it as being an issue with the person doing calisthenics in their sleep or something. It's actually true! I don't have too much issue with the electric blanket sliding off of me. The issue is that the blanket on top of it will slide off. When it does I wake up cold. The Sunbeam is soft, warm, and works great so far except for the slippery issue. I can't say how reliable the blanket is yet, but if or when it goes bad I certainly tell the world and post an update. I use my electric blanket with a kill-a-watt meter on it. So far in the short time I've had it, it is trending on $7.00 per month. I use it for 12 hours a day on average. I have a very efficient heat system so I am not sure if I am saving any money by reducing the temperature setting for the house while using the electric blanket for reading and sitting times along with sleep hours. ... show more

After I got this, and my husband napped in it, we bought another one for him. We have a king sized bed but we have our own blankets, no fighting for blankets. The blanket is so soft. I put the princess and the pea to shame. I vacuum our bed every night in case there is a single bit of anything. My pillows have to be just so. I cut all the tags out of clothes. My skin is just stupidly sensitive. I had an electric blanket before and liked it, but I could feel those wires. Between the plush feel of this blanket, and the super thin wires, I have to go out of my way to try and feel them. It's lovely and works just as well off as a regular blanket and turned on. The feet and body are in two zones, so I can have my feet at a four and body at a 2. this is great! The body goes up to 10, the feet more, but that's really hot. I haven't went over a four yet on either. The cord is nice and long, the controls easy to use. It even has a preheat so you can let it lay there and warm the bed before snuggling in. and it turns itself off in 10 hours. I absolutely love love love this blanket. ... show more

    • Stopped Working within Less than 1 Year

This blanket is warm and soft. It was by far my favorite electric blanket that I have ever used. HOWEVER, it stopped working after less than 1 year of use. I contacted Sunbeam customer service and they told me I needed to provide them with a bunch of pictures and receipt for proof, which I did. Then they told me I needed to cut the cord and draw an “x” on the label and send a picture. I asked them whether I would be getting a refund or replacement before doing this because it seems silly to 100% ruin the blanket with no chance of repair if they are not going to help me. I was told that I would be given my options after sending them pictures of the decommissioned blanket (cut cord and “x” on label). Seems like a bad business practice to me. I sent the pictures and am still waiting to hear back. I purchased another one because it is still my favorite blanket but I am disappointed by the obvious lack of durability and poor customer service practice. ... show more

I had an electric blanket when I was a child. I hated it!! As I’ve gotten older a lot my knees and my feet are cold all the time even in the summer. So I thought I would try this even though it was pricey. I LOVE this Blanket!! Yes sometimes it slides, but that could also be I move my legs quite a bit when I sleep. I like it has dual controls for the top in the bottom. The top of me stays warm all the time but the feet on my body is always cold. I turn it on before I go to bed like 30 minutes. And then when I crawl in the bed asleep crawling into a toasty cocoon. I have a lot of trouble sleeping but since I’ve gotten this blanket I don’t have us much trouble I crawl into that blanket. And within 15/20 minutes I’m out. I sleep though the night before I got the blanket I was up every couple hours not just a week but literally up for an hour. Would I buy this blanket again oh yes I would even though the price is a little steep. I have a queen size bed I bought a twin because it’s just me. Even my cat is taking to sleep in with me that part I could live this out. ... show more

I bought this last March knowing I would need it this winter. I have been using it for two weeks now. I like the two zones of heat. I seldom need my body warmed as this blanket is warm even without turning it on. I do use the foot zone on the coldest nights. Very comfortable. Now the problem. The blanket slides off the bed nearly every night. I have to pull it back on during the night or it will be off to one side, always the right side, by morning. It is useless to me. I had a similar problem with a "sateen" sheet set. The blanket would slide off of the sheet. Never had a blanket that was able to slide out from in-between a sheet and a comforter. Sadly Sunbeam needs to make them better where it doesn't die within a season of winter and that it lasts longer than one winter season.They also need to get better safe non fire hazard heating temps on there blankets for the dangerous wind chills that make your place a lot colder.It just sad I have to buy a new heating blanket every winter season,but otherwise it a fine blanket not the best but fine for the winter season if u only need one for the winter season. ... show more
