Very nice little sewing machine. Came as advertised and already set up for use, which eliminated the threading hassles. I finally had the time to inbox it and use it and I end up spending two hours trying to sew 5 inch length of cloth. This is ridiculous. Its the first time im using this particular machine and all it dose is run in place until it can't force the needle through its own knot. It dosent even pull the cloth through the otherside even when i try to push it through. Getting it to start is a headache, even following directions, which I did! The off button acts more like the pause button. The hand wheel acts like a winds-up toy, press 'on' and you get tenish stitches in thr same space vefore you can even blink. Then repeat but don't forget: the cloth dosent move so you have to becare to do that yourself! Every third attempt is met with the cloth getting eaten by the bobin compartment. So not worth the money or the resulting headache. ... show more

It only makes one straight stitch doesnt give zig zag option also can't control speed its either high or low also catches with the top thread periodically

This sewing machine is great for thin fabrics. And it's very easy to use. I purchased this for my young daughter and she does not have a hard time using it at all. She rather enjoys it until she tries to use a thicker Fabric, then it does not work very well and gets jammed. Worth the money for small sewing repairs only. ... show more

Looked like a very simple and easy machine but the pedal does not work and now the bobbin will not work The bobbin was rattling around, then the whole surrounding piece popped out. My daughter sat patiently for hours as we tried to get it going. The sewing kit included is a good starter set, I'll give it that. I'm hoping I can get it working with the help of Google (to figure out what is going on with the bobbin). I've had a regular size Singer for decades- this one is a toy by comparison. ... show more

This machine worked out well for me. It took me back to days when the machines did not so in reverse, you had to lift the foot and turn the material to do reverse stitches. Other than that it worked fine.

Machine was broke by a couple days. If you want a good product don't be cheap like I was. I'm a beginner so I didn't want to spend very much on a sewing machine. This machine kept jamming, the thread kept popping. I kept rethreading, changing the bobbing, adjusting the tension. Even watched several videos to figure out the problem even took it apart. Long story short I purchased The Next brand sewing machine for $87 and it works awesome. I do not recommend purchasing the Sunbeam sewing machine. You get what you pay for; nothing! ... show more
