  • Rid of Invisible House Biters
Style: 30 Oz Quick Kill Pattern Name: Mosquito Bits
Reason for purchase: So for a month nearly, I've been struggling with invisible crawlers. A pipe near the air conditioning in the ceiling started leaking and formed some kind of breeding ground for God knows what. Pipe got fixed but invisible crawlers remained. For a time, I noticed 50 adult gnats were hovering inside around the house that seemed to come out of nowhere. Couldn't find any bed bugs or fleas, despite getting swarmed with invisible crawlers every night. Id kill or spray any adults in the bed with me but it was a complete nightmare. Bought 4 different sprays and traps to get rid of these things. Adult gnats were gone, but I was left with invisible biters that I couldn't see. They'd hover at my legs in the kitchen, bathroom, desk, and at night in bed which was the worst. I could feel them crawling/biting on me from scalp to toes literally. I tried a combo of flea, gnat, and bed bug sprays which were awful on my sinuses (with a mask on). Bought this stuff and used it first time literally yesterday. Day 1: I took a tea strainer put some bits into a disposable cup of warm water. Turned cloudy and after 30 to 45 minutes I poured it in a spray bottle with the best mist out there. A misty spray bottle covers more area than giant droplets or streams. No smell, I wasn't choking coughing like those other sprays. Edit: I started just sprinkling the solution with my hands, the liquid deteriorated the foam in spray bottles. Areas I Sprayed: * ALL windows inside and out, doorframes that led to outside, rugs *Kitchen (sink, under the sink, nearby cabinets, trash can), *Living area (rugs, cloth furniture like couch), *Bathroom (rug, trash, cabinet, poured a little down the drains particularly after a shower or handwash), *Bedroom I removed all fancy bedding, curtains, and pillows and have just had a minimalist thin blanket, 1 sheet, 1 pillow just so I don't wash everything a million times over. I sprayed all my bedding down and put it in bags on the patio or garage. Yes I sprayed my mattress and box spring. I'd also spray my bed every morning upon getting up and at night before bed. I'd toss my throw blanket and pillow in the dryer on high heat for 45 min about an hour before bed. Washed those every other day. *Closet I did spray it but not as often because I wasn't getting bit there. So once a day or 2. *Car..... so ....yes these things traveled with me in my clothes and I'd feel them crawling in my pants and shirt while running errands so I sprayed the car before getting in and after getting out...everyday. Personally this stuff is a natural insecticide so getting it on my skin or clothes wasn't an problem for me. ***Extra Tips (1 week update): I did not mop floors where I sprayed immediately, I just left it there for 12hrs. While there isn't an initial smell (didn't have to use a mask while spraying), after 24hrs this stuff smells like puke....so yea just a warning. As instructed I just dumped and used a fresh batch every 48hrs. Also this stuff ruins spray bottles the foam peice on the inside, so I resorted to just using my hands to sprinkle/flick the liquid everywhere....still worked but a bit more tedious. In order to make sure I get all lifespans of the buggers its best to do this for 3 weeks. In that time frame what helped me from being bit was Picardin bug repellent (Deet burned my nose and didn't work) Trick is you can't just spray it on you, I literally had to spray my hands and rub it in morning and night before bed. For sensitive areas like scalp, ears, face, chest, privates was peppermint oil...they seem to hate that stuff and wouldn't crawl there, I smelled like mint gum though. Peppermint oil does tingle for like 5 min like icy hot or mint gum so just a heads up but you can dilute it with another oil. Yes they did crawl in my underwear, I didn't peppermint oil my privates just the perimeter zone, if you want to get intimate....tea tree oil is a good one, they're safe on privates (help with yeast and post partum pregnancy too). Last thing, during meals, what helped was having a fan right beside me when eating. Put any raw meat packages in a grocery bag tie a knot before putting it in the trash. (I sprayed trash cans twice daily) 24hrs later: there is definitely a reduction in the amount I feel around/on me. I did wakeup with some still crawling on me in my thin blanket but that's better than the usual swarm. I'll update in 1 week. Edit 1 week update: I'll have to keep this up for 2 more weeks at least. I'm reading reviews where some claimed cured after 1 spray but that wasn't my situation. The population was cut by like 20% each day. I still was doused in repellent and twitching at night and fanning my food the first 3-4 days. Now a week later, I don't need a fan anymore. Sleeping is much more doable as I only feel 1 or 2 at night as opposed to a swarm. At the stage where I can ditch repellent but I still use the peppermint/tea tree oil since they hunt my scalp, ears, and privates still. (Yes, all this from a leaky pipe) I just know gnats are all I initially saw, I'm not sure if I had bed bugs or fleas or mites I didn't see any upon inspection. This stuff works better than the 4 other throat burning sprays I've used. Id definitely use this again. And the pack would definitely last me 2-3 months if needed. I can't see any swarms with my eyes I just feel them hovering, biting, and grazing my body. The adults are gone. I'm just getting rid of the juveniles from any eggs as I still don't know where they came from. I'd say at this point 70% are gone after a week. ... show more

  • WORKS But Best When Used….
Style: 30 Oz Quick Kill Pattern Name: Mosquito Bits
This does work very well for fungus gnats, but I believe this may work best when used with a combination of products. First of all, I can not guarantee elimination if you use these alone for the gnats (maybe it does work alone, but I tried this as a last resort) as I used a combination of the following: First of all, for gnats I HIGHLY recommend using a “top dressing” that will cover the soil completely. I used a combo of sand and small quartzite gravel/volcanic rock (for anything edible I don’t suggest using sand - only use sand for ornamental plants and sand that is silica free/“play sand”). Make sure the dressing is at least 1 inch thick on top, but if possible the thicker the dressing the better. This will eliminate the majority of the gnats alone! I thought I eliminated all of them with only the top dressing and those yellow sticky traps, but I noticed a few stragglers so I added this to the repertoire. I was a bit hesitant to use this at first because of the warning label (it’s required by law!), but based on my research I felt comfortable using it. The main ingredient, “BTI”, stands for bacillus thuringiensis israelensis, which is a type of bacteria that is naturally occurring. The studies I’ve read have shown no serious health consequences for humans or animals (in some rare cases there was irritation to the skin/eyes but no long term serious health consequences). I would never use any product that puts my health at risk (and most importantly the health of my animals!), but if you’re still worried do your own research! To be extra (paranoid) safe I water my plants away from my animals and wash my hands thoroughly after use. Make sure you measure the amount correctly!!! This is vital. Also, when making a “tea” for gnat elimination, the suggested brewing period I find is too short. What I do is make a mix in my watering jug and let it sit for at least 12 hours. Then I stir it very well and apply. I have used it 4 times and the gnats are no more. I’m going to continue applying a few more times to be sure. I am hoping this will work for thrips as well (from what I have read it does). If this works for thrips I will update my review (Trust me when I say the gnats were an easy enemy compared to thrips, ha! Count your blessings if you’re only battling gnats!). ... show more

  • finally got rid of the gnats
Style: 30 Oz Quick Kill Pattern Name: Mosquito Bits
I had a really bad what i consider to be a severe gnat infestation. I tried everything from bombing the house, to spraying the plants with bug spray, changing the soil on the plants I thought were the culprits, not realizing, that majority of the plants were infested with the gnats. Watching hours of youtube videos, and looking up how to get rid of the gnats on the internet i came across the Mosquito Bits so I decided i was going to give one last try, I really did not want to throw out all my plants. I found that this worked the best for me, I followed the instructions and mixed the solution, watered my plants with them, i put the yellow traps also in the soil to see if the problem was going away the yellow traps also gave a good indication of how bad the problem was. Within days, i started to see less of them and finally they were gone. I think it may have taken a week or even 2 not sure but they were gone. I let the soil dry out and i gave them a 2nd dose... so far they have not returned. OMG!!!! ... show more
