  • Best 10 bucks I ever spent!
Style: 1 Pack
Oh my God, where has this simple, effective, ingenious device been all my life and why hadn't I ever heard of it before? My 7 year old got a bumble bee sting (yes, they DO sting and it HURTS). A few days later I got stung by one. Then my 3 year old got stung by one. My daughter's violin teacher told me about this sting thingie and I didn't buy it because I figured this must have just been a freak occurrence everyone knows "bumblebees don't sting". Well, a few days later I was kicking myself for not buying this thingie after another bumblebee stung me in my garden. We have a small homestead with tons of berries, fruit trees, vegetables, etc and we have hoards of bumblebees everywhere on everything. We have loads of wasps, too. Great, bumblebees pollinate and wasps prey on bad bugs that are garden pests, so I love them, but their stings hurt and cause me to get a red welt that feels hot and swollen, spreads over several inches and it itches for a week. So I ordered this thingie. My 7 year old got a mosquito bite and we used the thingie. She's usually pretty sensitive to bites which itch and bother her for several days. Upon using this, it immediately stopped itching and stayed not itching. She's also extremely sensitive to pain or discomfort and she was able to tolerate this device. She got a couple more mosquito bites, the tool worked on them, and we also used it on a couple she got a few days ago and it worked on those, too, perfectly! I even used it on my week old bumblebee sting which had been itching me horribly and was red. To my astonishment, it actually helped that one quite a bit. I'm sure if I'd caught it earlier, it would have been eradicated but the venom had spread. Still the itching ceased for many hours and the redness abated a lot. The immediate area where I used the suction is returned to normal color skin, as the venom is out, but the venom had spread all down my arm so there is still some in there. No fault of the device, it says the sooner you use it, the better the results. Anyway, we haven't had any stings to test it on. But I wish I had this when we got yellowjacket, wasp, and bumblebee stings in the past. Ironically, we keep honeybees and they pretty much never sting us, but if they ever do, it will be great to have this tool! I'd give this product a million stars! ... show more

  • It truly works!
Style: 1 Pack
I don't usually believe in infomercial-type stuff but this TOTALLY works. It's pain free, suctions easily, fits in a pocket or purse, and definitely minimizes (and sometimes eliminates completely!) reactions to mosquito bites. The only tragedy is when you forget to use it. If you're prone to bug bites, then definitely buy one of these. It's pretty amazing! ... show more

  • PSA: You HAVE to use it correctly - it's very easy to misuse. It does work; 4 stars (no longer 2)!
Style: 1 Pack
I purchased this tool for my mosquito bites. For the first month or so after I got this tool, I used it incorrectly, and so I rated this two stars, thinking it didn't work and was all some mass hype. I mean, from a commonsense standpoint, this doesn't SOUND like it would work - how can a nasty mosquito bite just disappear with what is essentially a suction cup? HOWEVER, from a scientific standpoint, it does make sense, so I tried again today after getting some serious bug bites. THIS TIME, I did it correctly; you have no idea how easy it is to misuse this tool! Here's what you have to do: 1) Pull the suction tool ALL the way up - ALL the way. It WILL hurt a little - you might wince - but you have to do this part. This is what I failed to do for a month and is the most important part. 2) Hold it for at least 20 seconds. You can't simply release after a short time. I've been holding for longer. 3) After you release the suction and look at your skin area, sometimes you can literally see the bug saliva in the form of moisture on the surface of your skin - at least I can. It might look like water out of a single pore or hole. ** Please note that this tool doesn’t completely relieve all mosquito bites, even when used correctly. This is why it receives 4 stars. It does definitely alleviate the itch, but there may be some residual itch from residual mosquito saliva still inside your skin. ** Notes: 1) You may end up with redness, bruising, or a ring from the suction. I have easily bruising skin, however, and it reddened my skin with a temporary ring from the suction, but none of it lasted longer than 20 minutes. Maybe the key is to release gently? I don't know. 2) You may have to readjust the suction and try again several times on non-flat skin. I would recommend the smaller suction for a more precise bite on a bumpy area; otherwise, readjust, readjust, readjust with the big suction! Then try again. 3) This tool works much better on new mosquito bites. Keep it handy! ... show more

  • It works!!!! (but use it fast - so have it ON you)

<UPDATE> THE NEXT DAY: I unfortunately stumbled onto yet another Yellowjacket nest the next day. I was stung an additional 6 times, three of which I could get to, the other three were in spots I couldn't reach. So I had the opportunity to apply this device on three more stings. None worked. I had the unit on me at the time of the attack and went immediately to work suctioning three of the stings four or five times each, immediately. In the end, none worked. So I'll drop my 5 stars to 3 because I'll give some credence to the concept of possible "user error." but I don't think so. I had practice from the day before so I knew how to use it. I'll still carry this around with me just in case, but I have a feeling it's bogus. I'll update again if and when this happens. I was stung by two Yellowjackets yesterday while weed whacking my property. For the first one I needed to run inside and find it first, then apply. Nope, I was too late but I felt like this was a useless product. But I kept it on me and to my dismay, I got hit by another one! (nests seem to be popping up this time of year?) I immediately took the device from my pocket and applied four or five times just to be sure. Now, I have two sings to compare. One still hurts a day later, and the other is non-existent. And, I was most definitely stung twice. So kudos. I'm going to be carrying this in my pocket for now on anytime I weed whack or use my leaf blower! ... show more
