We have had our corn snakes for less than a year and have been on the hunt for the prefect substrate. Compared to previous brands we have used, these aspen shavings are comparable in price and compressed very well for shipping. If anything I might prefer looser curls for chunkier bedding but overall these finer chips have been working well. For the price we may continue to purchase and mix these with larger substrate.

I got these shaving to try as an alternative substrate for my snake and so far it has worked pretty good. It is easy to use, holds moisture well and isn't dusty so no worries about causing a respiratory infection in my snake. I would definitely buy this again

These aspen savings are clean and are fine shavings that are great for bedding. I hadto put thse into my own bags because it was spilling out of holes, so be careful not to spill it. Great for frogs and isopods!

These shavings have worked out very well. Packed nicely, the amount one gets after the plastic is cut will likely be used for a long time. I noticed that it retains heat and some humidity better than other beddings, and would be better suited for most reptiles in regards to the desired humidity level. No complaints!

It comes compact so it's easier to store, it fluffs up nicely and there is no dust only wood, very little smell as well. Highly recommend

We used these shavings as bedding for our new chicks. The shavings are nice and real wood, they do a good job of keeping the chicks up off of the ground, they soak up their urine and clump with poop. The downside is that the chicks pecked at these shavings and seemed to be eating some of them. They are also small enough that the shavings are easily kicked airborne when the chicks scratch and they are getting in their water. These would be much better for a reptile than small chicks.
