It was exactly what I was looking for. The fine vermiculite was packed in a vacuum sealed bag which I transferred into a gallon zipper bag. I use this to amend my soil and also cut down on fungus gnats with my indoor seedlings. Great product and just the right amount.

I use this stuff for germinating cactus seeds and its a million times better than cactus soil, perlite, you name it. I only get one hundred percent successful germination using vermiculite. I like how its packaged too, vacuum sealed so it takes us less room in packaging!

I like how fine and lightweight it is! It came vacuumed sealed. I used it in making a seed starting mix. Helps retain the moisture for the seeds. Recommend it! It is organic, safe for your plants. I googled "asbestos free vermiculite" and this one pops up as being , one of many.. hope it helps.

The page seems to suggest that the particles are 1-3mm in size. I cannot find anything that approaches 3mm (that's almost an eighth of an inch). Mostly this is consistency of very fine sand. Should have just gone to Home Depot.

This is what I wanted. For reference 14.6oz product = about 2 quarts of product volume. It's a bit finer ground but it will work for my needs. The package is vacuumed sealed which was a nice surprise because I was putting it into my luggage to take back home. So it's rather thin which was great to travel with.
