Just Received today, first thing I noticed is the uneven spacing of the holes, I'd chalk it up to 'scientificly spaced for optimal airflow' whatever but even if that was the case you'd expect it to be symmetrical down the middle, one side is 7 1/2" away, the other is 4" and some random lines 2 away from one edge is less that 2". Idk but I'll give it a shot anyways and update this later with how it felt after a few nights sleep. -update- after around 2 weeks of using this, I will say it's pretty good, changing review to 4 stars, not as soft as I was hoping for but I still sink in about 2inchs at the highest pressure areas, and I'm a pretty light guy. Only other complaint is even though I got the cooling gel one, It still retains heat pretty heavily, though I think that's just how memory foam is. Might be nice in the winter, just a bit uncomfortable in a warmer environment. ... show more

It poofed up to about 3.5" after unpacking. Still better than the old 3" I had. It is "slightly" stiffer than my old four year old one....but, not bad. Prob due to it being new. It didn't impact my sleep. No pinch points, no arms or legs going numb. No stressful toss-n-turning all night. The vent holes do their job. It comes with a nice razor tool to cut the plastic it was wrapped in. FOUR STARS - Well spent $100 for this topper...I really like it. But, my old worn out one was a slightly softer and more "cushiony". But, this one is still good. Keeper. ... show more

I like a softer sleep surface, and I would classify this as medium/firm. I feel that has more to do with the 2" thickness than anything else. Mine had no smell whatsoever and was fully expanded within a couple of hours. Seems to be good material that probably won't deteriorate over time (like the yellow foam pads do). My cats give it 2 thumbs up. Yes, cats have thumbs (because they have little hands, not paws). Sorry not sorry. ... show more

I spent a pretty penny on a king size bed that left me with a sore neck and back. I even opted to sleep in my guest bed until I found the perfect mattress pad . This pad relieved all of the stress as it adjust to my body and doesn’t disturb my husband when I get up at 5 am. Opened to a full 2inches in just 24 hours. I already have a 4" one on top of our Queen size bed mattress, & it has relieved my sciatica pain from my back down through my legs; My daughter (who has back problems) slept on this 2" one we bought for on top of the light feather bed mattress pad on our sleeper sofa mattress & she loved it!!
