For the record, I do mix with a coconut apricot wax! Coconut apricot wax is fantastic but I needed a smoother and higher fragrance load candle wax. This is good alone, but I like making a special blend to get all the benefits I'm looking for. This wax is SMOOTH! No black soot like others are saying. A lot of people leave their wicks entirely too long and that can make you throw soot too. Try cutting your wicks back or measuring your fragrance load by weight. I've been making candles and incense and this is the first wax type that I started using. Definitely easy to use but hard to cut considering I've received a block cut instead of a slab cut so you will need a strong tool to cut away at it. Will continue to buy UPDATE: Received a new batch of Paraffin Soy wax and the consistency isn’t the same. Far from it. The old batch is soft and this batch is harder and different color. What gives? Definitely NOT a single pour wax. I made a small batch of candles for family at Christmas since my mom has very (not) subtly hinted that she missed the candles that I use to make. I bought the suave smooth in hopes I could just pour once and be done. Every single one of the candles that I made sank a ton-and they weren't even big candles! I had to use a hair dryer to melt the top 1/3 of the candle to get it to level out and look nice. It also devoured the dye that I put in it. I made a few Christmas tree scented candles and used double the amount that I usually had and it came out a very pastel light green. It does have good scent hold and throw and I made a few tester candles to see how it burns. I've burned it for a few hours and it does seem to burn slow and throws scent well enough. It is pretty soft at room temp and sticks to the side of the glass containers that I used well. Idk if I'll buy it again just because of the horrible sink holes. I made a second batch today and ran out of this wax so I had to blend it with straight soy at about a 50/50 mix and the second batch didn't sink nearly as much and scent retention and color seems to be better. I haven't burned any of those yet but blending with soy may help. ... show more
