It could have been simpler to use . powered by a more common battery size . It was not powerful enough to penetrate 1/2 ceramic with any consistency. its ok for finding studs in drywall , I should popped for the more expensive model, maybe?

    • Does what it should, easy to read display, pretty easy to use with multiple "modes"

Instructions are fairly clear, although I have to point out that they read as if they were written in another language and translated to English. Not a huge deal, but some words/phrases are not used correctly or don't 'read' the way they should. No points docked for this, it's a stud finder. They've been made the same for decades and they operate the same. So far, this studfinder is doing well for me for some around-the-house projects. I really like how the display alerts me to the left, right, and center points of a stud. I also like how there's different "modes" such as "deep" (for thick drywall), metal (for studs), and AC (can detect if there's wiring behind the drywall). So far I have no complaints. I will say the "calibration" part is a con. It's not that it takes that long or is overly difficult, but before using EVERY TIME, you have to "calibrate" by putting the studfinder on a part of the wall where there are no studs, hold a button for 5 second and wait for a beep. This is to let you know it's done and it's ready to search for studs. It's a 'con' because I can imagine a lot of people don't know how to locate studs WITHOUT a studfinder, and they're probably going to think it's broken/not working if they just use it straight out the box without calibrating first. ... show more

I was hoping for something more accurate but if you run it 10 times you'll get 10 slightly different spots of where the center and edges are. I talked with my engineering friend that worked at the company that made this, and he said that unfortunately all stud finders use the same technology and will share the same degree of accuracy. Product is easy to use and has all the functions as advertised. The stud finder takes some getting used to, but once you master the prestud sensor beeps and distance lines, it works well. Great price for the 4 in 1.

This product seems to be causing a lot of inconvenience. It’s disappointing when the screen detects the center position one moment and then disappears when i try to confirm it the next moment,requiring you to go through the detection process again.It’s definitely a terrible user experience.
