LED technology, shock-proof with a 50,000 Hour lifetime. Deep-dish parabolic reflector produces a concentrated beam with optimum peripheral illumination. Optimized electronics provide regulated intensity throughout battery charge. NiMH battery rechargeable up to 1000 times; also accepts NiCd battery. Made up of 6000 series machined aircraft aluminum with non-slip rubberized comfort grip and anti-roll rubber ring. Unbreakable polycarbonate lens with scratch- resistant coating. excellent quality. The best flashlight I've ever owned. A little pricey...but the quality and the charger that comes with it make the price worth it. Not the brightest of lights by any means, but it seems much brighter to me compared to other lights more powerful, because it's a floodlight style flashlight and doesn't have the narrow beam that most lights have. It still reaches out there plenty far, but it's forte is lighting up everything in front of you generously. I use it most often to walk my dog at night and early morning. I live adjacent to open space land which is semi wilderness and it affords me a very well lit path to walk on and when I switch it on to the hightest setting, it's extraordinary. I use it on the lowest setting most of the time. That's 170 lumens according to Streamlight and I'd believe it. I have a 6 D cell mag light that's supposed to be 134 lumens and that's what I use for comparison. Of course there is no comparison. The mag light is a monster. The Stinger is sleek and compact. Very easy to use for long periods of time. The interface is also a joy. One switch...you click it on and hold it to let the light cycle up or down until you find the brightness you want. Easy and intuitive without a lot of complication. You have the stobe mode also. The light isn't styled paramilitary/high tech like most seem to be these days. It's pretty plain by many standards, but in this case it works and I like it all the more for that reason. This is a great light and I highly recommend it ... show more

This flashlight is amazing. The battery life is great, and I never lose any brightness throughout the day. I worked in law enforcement previously, so I knew it was a good brand.
