I am a DYI guy so having the right tool is important. I ordered this because I have a lamp post light in the front yard and needed to replace the photocell. The lamp post screws together in about three different places and has to be disassembled in order to access to photocell. Using just my hands I could not get a section of the post to unscrew because it was too tight. So, I ordered this strap wrench and after it arrived, I put it around the post and with very little effort I unscrewed the post. I immediately realized that this strap wrench was well worth the money. There have been many times when I have faced similar situations where I could have used this tool. It's very well built and simple to use and I like that there are two sizes. This is a very handy and versatile tool to have in your toolbox.

These work well once you figure them out. My new car has a really small oil filter that I couldn't remove with anything else. These were the only thing that worked. They do slip a lot if you don't have it locked on there and tightened up perfectly, so watch your knuckles. I banged mine a few times trying to loosen my filter. Wish there were indicators telling you which way to push/pull for new users, or maybe an obvious QR code to an instructional video... and also a way to lock it in once it's tightened. It's hard to tighten it down and then keep it gripped while pushing the handle when you can only fit one hand in a tight space where the filter is. It dropped the filter straight into my drain pan on my first oil change using it and oil went everrrryyywhere.. including my face. I've learned to put on latex gloves for a better grip and hand turn the last few turns out.. and make sure there's a large drop cloth under it. I've used these to turn lids and other things that were too tight, and worked great for that, also, just sometimes hard to keep it from slipping. Really like them for the most part, can be very useful for multiple purposes.

It’s been so many years since last using a belt wrench that I forgot how well they work. The box arrived at the door and I heard my phone chime letting me know to get it. I opened the box and grabbed the larger wrench and headed straight to the garage to loosen the carbon filter for our water system that was over tightened and no way was that wimpy plastic wrench going to work as I tried and it almost snapped so I stopped. This belt wrench is so simple to use too just know which direction you need to go so you only have to put it on once not twice;) What surprised me was how well this belt wrench kept its grip as I had to hit the red button to burp the water and air out of the filter container. Those who change out their own water filters will know what I’m talking about with the red button on the baby blue container. I forget the brand name but anyways it was wet and the belt still cinched and turned. Now since mine was over tightened I did have to move the wrench all the way to the top to prevent over torquing the whole unit and breaking it or even snapping the water lines which some are copper and others are some kind of pvc plastic water lines so again, very happy I was able to loosen it without damaging anything. The water company charges a minimum $150 to come to the house and do up to an hour of work which this takes less than 5 minutes to do so I saved $130 as this belt wrench set of 2 was under &20. This made my week. If you were trying to decide on trying out a belt wrench for your water system, I don’t think you can go wrong with this set. Just make sure you measure so you know these 2 wrenches will work for you. My carbon filter container was 6 inches across and I had plenty of extra belt to not feel like it won’t cinch. Good luck. 5 stars.

The whole reason I wanted these was because of the orange color. Wouldn't have ordered them if they were, say, red. So you can imagine my disappointment when I opened them and they were almost more of a red color than orange (in my opinion). They're at the very least a reddish orange. Whether you agree with that or not, you can certainly agree that these are nowhere close to the color advertised.
