  • More than just a fuel system cleaner and stabilizer
Style: System Cleaner (1 Pack)
The very first product I bought from STP was just the fuel injector cleaner. I had never used a fuel additive in my life so I decided to gave it a try and it worked. However, I wanted more which had led me to this product. I was thrilled as I read the descriptions. I was planning on using this STP ultra after my next oil change. Some time early last week as I was driving home, the check engine light came on. It was a code showing P0399. I looked it up and it said something about the crank position sensor having issues. My check engine light been on for days now. There was also another code P0420. I knew my catalytic converter was dirty so I went to autozone to buy CataClean. When it was Friday I finally got an oil change. The direction of this bottle says to use when the gas tank is half full. My gas tank been full. It was not until today I decided to pour this stuff into the gas tank some time during the afternoon. It didn't occur to me until later tonight I noticed the check engine light suddenly disappeared from the dash. I was like wow this is amazing! I was certain that there were all kinds of nasty build up in my car that had probably caused those error codes to pop up. Driving was pretty much smooth. I'm not so sure about the MPG but I was amazed that it even turned off the engine light. I could not contain my excitement. Now I am just wondering how long will it stays off. I wanted to use this product at least once a week but it did say not until every 4,000 miles. I usually do an oil change every 5k. Anyway, I'll be purchasing this again. I also bought one for my dad's car since he been complaining about his car using a lot of gas during short trips. Update (9/10/18): The car's been running smooth and the check engine light still haven't came back! I highly recommend this product. ... show more

  • Helped my turbo
Style: System Cleaner (1 Pack)
I was getting hesitation and unsteady acceleration with my Subaru Forester XT and it had been going on for a couple years...on and off. The dealer said to take it out for a 20 mile drive on the freeway but that didn't do anything. The jerky acceleration would come and go. Put one bottle of STP Fuel System Cleaner in my 16 gallon tank and the problem stop almost immediately. Several months later I added another bottle. It has now been more than 6 months since I first used it had have not had one episode of jerky acceleration. Very smooth acceleration that almost feels like you have more horsepower!! Does what it says it will do. I will keep adding it about every months. ... show more

  • I Guess It Works
Style: System Cleaner (1 Pack)
I was skeptical that a solvent would really make a difference, but it really did make the truck run better and made it more responsive. It’s idle has smoothed out nicely. I ran it through with a tank of premium, which the truck does not like much and it still ran a little rough, but after filling up with regular pump gas, it runs great and seems to get better mileage ... show more

  • Probably a good idea for some preventative maintenance
Style: System Cleaner (1 Pack)
What's there to say here, really? If you think your car needs this, as in you're experiencing issues with how the engine runes, there's probably something larger wrong with the car than just some engine build-up. With the amount of kind of crappy gas out there, though, it's probably a good idea to run this in your tank every several-thousand miles or so as good preventative maintenance. If you get it at a good price it's only the cost of a couple gallons of gas, and it will help treat your fuel system to try and avoid (or delay) future costly repairs. It's painless to use, and probably helps your engine. Thing is, it's tough to prove a negative - for most people, the desired result of using this regularly is that something nothing happens. ... show more

  • Actually works
Style: System Cleaner (1 Pack)
I have a 2011 Subaru Outback 3.6R with 153k on it. I was supposed to change the plugs at 90k. I didn’t. So the engine got gunked up pretty bad from suboptimal combustion for about 60k Extra miles. I had my garage change the plugs to NGK Iridium tips and then dumped a bottle of this in the tank with 91 octane Chevron Supreme gas. Drove till I was at 1/4 tank, added a second bottle of STP Ultimate and another fill up of Chevron 91. And then repeat a third time. Improvements came within the first few miles of the first bottle. Idle began to smooth, response with partial throttle openings became stronger and smoother, and less lag for larger throttle openings. Adding up to the impression of reclaimed power and smoothness. The further in the above timeline, the better everything got. I’m now getting improved MPG and a significantly quieter engine. And I expect it to start that way due to the cleaner combustion from the better-than-OEM Iridium plugs. Recommended. ... show more

  • No improvement.

I sed this to clean out my system and hopefully gain 1-2mpg. After using Liqui-Moly Engine Flush, I went from 10.3 to 13.7. After using this for ~300 miles, I'm down to 13.3. Same driving, same areas. I'll be adding Liqui-Moly Ceratec to the oil now based on the reviews. 14 year-old vehicle with 77k miles, stock city mpg was 15. I'm doing the Liqui-Moly Engine Flush again for at least 2 more oil changes and will see how the Ceratec feels before adding more. Coincidentally, my water pump failed shortly after using the STP Ultra 5-in-1. No correlation between the two; just saying. ... show more

  • Concept is great....efficacy is not so great
I used this product on my Toyota van. I thought this would be better than just running fuel system cleaner or another like product. The gizmo is easy to use and basically replicates what the dealership charges 120-150 dollars for. However, result for me was not very impressive. I manually cleaned the throttle body and used a can of seafoam later with far greater effect on overall performance. ... show more

  • Did not dispense as intended!
Using the red and blue switches did not dispense the product. I had to remove the top gray plastic piece. Luckily there are four screws that need to be undone, and I was able to manually press the dispersing button and hold the throttle open with a prey bar.
