Description

Storm designed this high-performance ball from the inside out. They started designing the Storm DNA by creating the Supercoil weight block that has a very low RG shape with a higher undrilled intermediate differential. Since the mass of the weight block is located in the middle of the core it helps to read the midlane better. Storm then moved the carefully calculated and regulated chemical composition of the ball's coverstock. The EXO Reactive coverstock provides traction that will garner attention.

Great ball for the transition. Highly controllable and excellent back end movement. Shot my first 600 series with this ball back in April for a 620. If you're a fan of Storm like I am then you will love this ball. But act fast or it will be gone forever.

I bought the DNA for my granddaughter who bowls leagues and competitions. The pro shop drilled it with a 4-4-2 setup. This setup and ball reaction is great for medium to heavy oil conditions. It has a constant arch, reads midline well and has around 12-14 boards of break. What’s amazing about this ball is the power it delivers on the backend, the pins just explode. Her bowling speed currently is 13-15 and with a 14 pound ball her strike count has greatly increased. On the downside if you bowl on dry lanes this ball out of the box will be too much hook. This thing is insane. This is my first non-house ball I've bowled. I've played a hook on house balls for 25 years (2 fingers - one hand). I used to be a very casual bowler, but decent. I just got this ball about 3 months ago when I joined a league and started playing more regularly - breaking 200 now. The hook is out of this world. To be honest, I have a hard time getting it down-lane before it hooks. I've had to modify my wrist rotation on release to try and improve the balls down-lane release. Coming from a house ball, it's required some modifications. I'm slowly starting to get used to it. However, I'm not entirely convinced that I wouldn't be better served by a ball with less hook. I think it'd provide more consistency. The hook, being as pronounced as it is, makes every bowl that's less than perfect, far more pronounced. That's not necessarily a bad thing I guess. You have a lot of influence over this ball. It's just harder to get dialed in, as a result. For me, the challenge is getting the release down-lane. It's either hooking like mad, or releasing far too early. When it releases just right though, it's an absolutely BEAST. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Real quick, I’m a former professional-amateur bowler, with 300’s under my belt since I was 16, so I’m familiar with the games intricacies, that being said.. WOW! This ball… SUPERNOVA - There are mixed reviews about the SuperNova out there, but I can confidently say there shouldn’t be even one negative comment out there. The Supernova has met/exceeded all of my expectations after doing much, much research finding/choosing a new ball. For a solid cover ball, it has all the midland read, but doesn’t lose ANY angle or momentum down lane while breaking towards the pocket, as solid’s often can. This ball will not be a disappointment, highly recommended, great compliment for any pearled ball in your bag. Some people recommend putting shine on it, but if you have to do that, then you probably need to ball down for some other reason, don’t alter the ball to fit your throwing style. Got this 15lb ball for my birthday. Went to the local pro shop and got the holes drilled. This thing bowls great on oily lanes which is just what I needed. It breaks late throwing at 14-15mph. Pin action is superb. Oh, and it smells nice which was a good surprise.

Ball came in perfect condition, have been using it for a few months now and I have not had any issues with it. Ball is very strong and reacts really good (depending how you drill it). But overall great product and it's legit. The only bad thing is if the lanes are dry or broken down bad, it will show on your ball and with that ball color you can see all the burn marks. I would suggest getting some abrolon pads to keep the ball looking fresh. ... show more
