The TRiLIGHT is a motion activated ceiling light for the garage, basement, or any room in the home that requires more light than a traditional light bulb can produce. Most importantly, it delivers the power of a lighting system that typically requires an expensive install by a licensed electrician, but it is as easy as screwing in a light bulb.     • An ALMOST perfect light
I would like to give this 4.5 stars, but I rounded down. Features, design performance, shipping speed and overall satisfaction get a 5. The 4 is a big one - expected durability. These are obviously early production units and they have some rough edges. The unit I received was 100% operational, all three LED panels are very bright and all the LEDs are illuminated, but I am afraid how long this will last. Here are my criticisms: a few of the individual LEDs were slightly misaligned. With robotic insertion, this shouldn't happen. I expect that the assembly of my unit was manual with a slightly sloppy technician. Next is a long term issue: there are dozens of LEDs that were well soldered, but a few looked like there wasn't enough solder used and a few looked suspiciously like a cold solder joint (a good solder joint is shiny, a cold solder joint looks a little grainy because the solder didn't solidify uniformly.) This may lead to a failure down the road. The other thing was where each of the three panels is wired to the controller - there are two wires soldered to the LED panel and I noticed two issues here - the soldering job was not great on two of the six wires and there was flux left on the connection. This should have been cleaned off. Depending on the type of flux used, this can absorb moisture and grow mold, again, a possible long term issue. I expect that these quality control issues will be solved when the units get into full scale production, but these are the sorts of problems that caused other to see DOA or infant mortality issues. The use of a microwave motion sensor is great, much better than the standard IR/Fresnel sensors. I am using this light in a large utility closet/room. It senses motion as we approach the door and keeps the light on with the slightest movement in the room. The fact that the three panels can be individually positioned makes the light quite versatile, and it is quite bright. 25 watts with the light output of three halogen flood lights is incredible. Overall, this product gets an A-, but with better QC will easily be an A+ performer. ... show more

    • Piece of crap
Purchased two of these units on Dec 30th 2018 and here it is Feb 6th and one is not working. And of course the return date has passed. There are less expensive units on the market but bought based on good reviews. They were fabulous when they worked but crapping out after 30 days, not good.

    • Won't turn off....
Installed mine in a two car garage. I watched 30 min of live camera feed last night, no one was around. no movement, still it won't turn off. It stayed on all night. complete waste of money and energy. Build quality is good. However it appears that the motion sensor is defective on mine. There could have added a motion sensor with sensitivity adjustment knobs, like you find on other security lights. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS PRODUCT. RETURNED mine.     • Brilliant Light!
This light is great! Like others have said it may seem expensive for what it is, but it solves so many problems so easily and works so well it seems the premium price is justified. I was considering installing 4' LED strips with motion sensors in our garage, but was always dreading the whole thing, the wiring, the hanging, the hoping my expectations are met. With this, the install was about 3 minutes and that included getting a ladder and setting it up! It's very easy to adjust the light position and the light is about as bright as I would want, you don't want to look at it when it's on. It looks tactical and durable, which is perfectly suited for a garage. Our garage is 2 cars wide and 2 cars deep with a little side wood shop, it currently has 3 over head lights, with just one of these it's remarkably brighter in the whole garage. Now that it's passed the test, we'll be getting 2 more and having abundant light that's on when you need it in a garage is a nice improvement. ... show more

    • solid good equipment
Ordered and rec'd just before Christmas. Installed same day. Took minutes. Works well. Light stays on for 80 to 90seconds with no motion. Just a little motion turns it on again. I have a wood door between my garage and house. Just touching the door from the house side causes the light to go on. My point is... I don't have to wave my hands around to make it turn on. Great motion sensor. Plenty of light for a double garage. Brighter than the three 60w incandescent bulbs it replaced. Because it come on so easily, it ALWAYS illuminates the steps going down into the garage. Now I don't have to add lighting just for the steps. I think the sensor would be too reactive for a yard or patio light... any motion at all would make it turn on, to the point of being a nuisance. ... show more
