  • Great floor underlayment, very dusty
Size Name: 6MM | 1/4 Inch (90 Sq. Ft)
I used this floor underlayment on a 360 sq ft floating floor. It worked great, installed very easily. You can cut it with a simple swipe of a utility knife and then a bend and the product will break on your line. It WILL make a ton of green dust everywhere while you are installing. After installation our floor was solid and it does seem to have a sound dampening property because it is noticeably quieter in our basement under this floor than previously. ... show more

  • Worked very well to level floor
Size Name: 6MM | 1/4 Inch (90 Sq. Ft)
I had a room in the house that sloped down, preventing us from finishing putting down the solid wood floor. We found this product and tried it. It worked perfectly using a combination of 1/8” and 1/4” versions. The other option was to remove the subfloor and fix the joists, costing a lot of money. The new floor went down and looks great. I didn’t adhere it to the OSB. Just laid all the pieces down and then nailed the 3/4” solid oak flooring through it and into the OSB subfloor. If you use glue to hold it down, it can’t be water based as it will absorb into the product. Cutting it is easy. I just scored it with a razor blade and bent it. It can get a little messy from the green fibers but wasn’t bad. I’d use it again if doing more flooring. Customer service was great when I had a question after the sale. ... show more

  • Better underlayment means a better finished floor...UPDATE
Size Name: 6MM | 1/4 Inch (90 Sq. Ft)
So we decided to redo the first floor of our house with engineered hardwood. We purchased the flooring and when it came in stacked it in the garage and called the contractor. Being a little naive I assumed that the roll out underlayment would be easy and appropriate, but wanted to hear from the contractor on his thoughts. Our contractor looked at our flooring and asked us if we wanted it to feel solid but with a little cushion, or do we just want to protect the bottom of the flooring. I said both so he told us to look at some thicker underlayments at Home Depot. We live in Hawaii, so thats pretty much the go to place, that or Lowes for bulk and cheap. I did look on Amazon and I saw the Steico Underlayment. Our contractor had never used it, but the advertised quality and benefits of a thicker underlayment were attractive. Ordered them and the contractor found that they were very easy to install. The only add was that he recommended gluing them down as we are on a concrete slab and was worried about them shifting. They installed the Steico glued down in one day and then the flooring in the next two. I can tell you it was worth it. Our neighbor used the same flooring with cheap thin underlayment and really regrets it. Our floors feel like hard wood and has just a bit of give. We are very happy with the Steico underlayment and highly recommend it if you want a good solid feel, good protection from water and ease of installation. UPDATE...so it has been almost a year and still the floor is fantastic. No depressions. Still has the little bit of cushion giving the engineered hardwood the feel of real wood floors. So happy we tried Steico. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Great product, lots of dust!
Size Name: 6MM | 1/4 Inch (90 Sq. Ft)
I installed this product underneath my vinyl flooring. It was very easy to install and use. It can be easily cut to the desired shape. It works great for dampening sound too. The only drawback is the amount of dust it creates during installation, especially if you're cutting this to shape. It's not a huge deal but it is something you should prepare for. The dust is very persistent as well as it took several rounds of vacuuming and steam mopping to finally get rid of it. ... show more

  • Great product and even better customer service
Size Name: 6MM | 1/4 Inch (90 Sq. Ft)
The product is just as described, easy to install and works like it is supposed to. Will definitely purchase again if I have the misfortune of installing another laminate floor. I would like to comment on the customer service of the company. UPS messed up the shipping and only half the order arrived. We messaged the company who not only called within an hour, they immediately sent a replacement which arrived in three days. I am very impressed with the company because this level of responsive customer service is unheard of nowadays. I would not hesitate to purchase from them again. ... show more

  • Easy to Use, works well.
Size Name: 6MM | 1/4 Inch (90 Sq. Ft)
Used for approx 300 sq. ft. of 3/8" Engineered Hardwood Flooring to provide additional support and sound-dampening qualities. Worked well for both. Light and Easy to install. Did not use duct tape over the joints - simply laid in place and nailed flooring directly on top. One Caveat - it does generate a surprising amount of fine green dust even when only cutting with a Sharp Utility knife. (Score and break just like you would drywall. It will tear on you with a dull blade). Ended up doing all my cuts outdoors and that resolved most of the issue. ... show more

  • Worked great to level my floor for laminate installation
Size Name: 6MM | 1/4 Inch (90 Sq. Ft)
I had to bring parts of my floor that were previously carpeted up to the same level as the floors that had vinyl installed (the vinyl sat on top of 1/4" wooden sub-board. This worked great and was very easy to work with, as long as you don't mind some dust during installation. I hope it's durable and doesn't turn to green dust as it ages. Best way to cut it is to keep a sharp knife and make quick decisive cuts against a straight edge over a piece of scrap (trying to saw it with a knife makes a ragged cut). This worked perfectly in my case and saved me the headache of trying to transport, cut and install large pieces of sub-board. It also has some give so it will soak up a minimal amount of imperfections in the floor. ... show more
