  • Finally Found a Wireless Headset That Replaces My A40s
Style: PC Color: Black
I’ve bought several wired and wireless headsets trying to replace my old Astro A40 Gen 1s. Those things have incredible sound and mic quality and have lasted forever with nothing but new ear pads and a new cord. But I’m tired of having a wire running across my desk, so I started hunting for a true wireless replacement. I tried a bunch of headsets: some wired, some wireless from big-name brands, and while the sound quality was usually good, the microphones always fell short. Almost every pair I tested had the same complaint: “The mic isn’t clear,” or “you sound far away.” I ended up returning all of them. I even went through Reddit threads, YouTube mic tests, and a dozen “Top 10 Headsets” lists. I compared those recommendations to Amazon reviews, where even 4- and 5-star headsets often have tons of comments saying the mic is garbage. After watching real mic test videos, I decided to try this headset, and I think I finally found the one. The features are exactly what I wanted. It’s wireless, and it works with pretty much anything thanks to the Bluetooth and 2.4GHz dongle options. Switching between them is literally a tap of a button. The comfort band on top is a huge upgrade over stiff foam padding and keeps pressure off my head, so no headaches. And the microphone hiding inside the earcup? Genuinely awesome. It stays protected, doesn’t stick out awkwardly, and pulls out smoothly when needed. Controls are easy: a volume dial, a one-tap mute button, and a power button that only needs a couple seconds of holding. The basics are done right. Sound quality is great for both music and games, solid bass, clear mids and highs, and overall it sounds more like using my desktop speakers than a typical gaming headset. The real test, though, is the microphone. I hopped on Discord and asked the same question I’ve asked with every other headset: “Can you hear me, and do I sound clear?” For the first time in a long time, I got: “Yes, you sound like you always do.” Finally. Check. On top of that, the software gives you a ton of customization. You can choose presets, adjust EQ, tweak mic quality, and personalize everything from desktop, web, or mobile. It’s a lot more than I expected at this price. Battery life hasn’t been an issue at all. I haven’t charged it once in five straight days of use, including multiple gaming sessions each day. Even if it needed charging, that wouldn’t bother me because everything else checks out. For me, this headset hits every key point I care about. It’s not even at a premium price, but it performs like something that should be. Definitely do your research, because a lot of premium-name headsets have great sound but fall short in the mic department. This one finally delivers on both. ... show more

  • Great headset, great software, great price.
Style: PC Color: Black
I was using Sennheiser Epos G670's prior to this. That was a terrible experience. The retractable mic is genuinely a lifesaver so I don't look like a total dork with a massive dongle hanging in front of my face while I have a standalone mic. The sound stage is decent, it's comparable to most mid-tier IEM's, arguably worse than the Sennheisers I had, but its still a very good auditory experience and allows you to pick up on many things that would usually go unnoticed. The comfort is next level though. No headset dent, doesn't leave gaps around my ears where my hair gets pushed out of the way, surprisingly lightweight. Stellar battery life. I use them on average 5-8 hours a day, and need to charge them once every week or so, and even then that only takes 30 minutes. The software (Steel Series Sonar) is absolutely top notch. I was using it prior to acquiring this headset and I only have incredible things to say about it. Multiple audio channels so you can have spotify playing with a custom EQ, and your game on a totally different one. I play Rainbow Six Siege at a semi-professional level, and that software really is a gamechanger in terms of being able to pick up on very subtle things in whatever game you play. This is 100% a must buy for anyone considering it. ... show more

  • Great sound, comfortable fit, easy setup
Style: PC Color: Black
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Bought this SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5 Wireless for my son, and it's been a hit. Setup was plug-and-play with the wireless dongle, no messing around with Bluetooth pairing. He's actually using it right now in the car on our drive to Oklahoma, paired easily with his iPhone 16 and hasn't dropped connection once. The ear cushions are soft and comfortable even for long stretches, and the sound quality is clear with good bass. Battery life has held up well through the whole trip so far. Comes with everything you need in the box, USB-C cable, dongle, and extra cushions. Highly recommend if you're looking for a solid wireless headset, especially for a gift. ... show more

  • Great headset, terrible software
Style: PC Color: Black
It's not often that I'm mad enough to write a product review. Here's the thing: this is objectively a great headset! It's comfortable. It sounds good. The microphone sounds good. The battery life is amazing. And none of that matters because the drivers/Sonar are so completely, embarrassingly, utterly bad. I've forgotten what it's like to turn my computer on and have the audio simply "just work". I've wasted countless hours of time at this point messing with the settings every time I turn my computer back on trying to get the headset to pair and windows to output to the correct device. Sometimes it completely breaks windows to the point where it says "there's no audio output devices". It's ridiculous. I should not have to spend 5 minutes messing with the settings every time I turn my computer on to get the audio to work. Fix Sonar. Fix your drivers. No one should buy your products until you do. If you do buy this, do yourself a favor and just use it over bluetooth. Don't install Sonar and try to use the wifi adapter. Oh yeah, except you can hear the microphone feedback by default unless you download their stupid software, so then you have to deal with that. ... show more

  • Good with some gribes.
Style: PC Color: Black
Mixed feelings on this & partly because of my set up I'll admit. Positives: The sound is really good (but has an issue) and the mic seems to be solid with really good noise cancelling. Headset is comfy with good pads and nice adjustment. I was surprised that both the headset AND mic were good since usually the mic is kinda bad on gaming headsets. Mic even tucks away so if you want to listen to some music? It works well for that too. Negatives: The good audio quality isn't something you'll notice if you just plug and play. No, you need to get the app and that requires you to make an account and log in (yay more data collection!). If you don't mind that? It's fine, just annoying that you need to give data after paying $150 for this. And if the service ever goes away? You can't utilize the benefits given by the app. Other issue is the dongle that it comes with is very wide, so when slotting it into my USBC port on my laptop? It blocks the other port. They give you a USBC cable to extend it away but it's clearly for a desktop as it's quite long and ya know- something you don't want hanging off your laptop or adding to your bag. So if that sounds like an issue, prepare to spend a few bucks to get a small USBC cable to keep your ports free. The app: The app despite having to make an account and all that is good. You get a volume control for all the software so if the game is too loud and you can't hear your friends or vice versa? You can adjust each slider, including music/video. And it genuinely does make the audio sound WAY better. I tried it out the box and I thought folks were insane for saying it sounds good, because it wasn't anywhere near $150 good, till I signed in. Suddenly it sounds very nice for games or music. Lets you hear where badmen are and gives you good bass and all that. Do I recommend this? If ya need a headset with a mic, yes. Works a treat and packs away well. I do still lean toward getting a good pair of headphones and a mic- but having an all-in-one is also handy, especially for wireless. I just hate that it's yet another thing trying to scrape data off customers, ya really don't need my email and all that so I can use my headset. ... show more

  • Sound amazing, after some changes
Style: PC Color: Black
These are only 5 stars after making some changes. The EQ is absolutely needed. Right out of the box these sound like absolute junk. Downloading the app is frustrating as well, but after installing both the Desktop app, AND Mobile app you can use the #Blud EQ preset which make these sound amazing. I recommend uninstalling the Steelseries GG desktop app after you're done modifying your EQ. It's basically spyware, and hides annoying overlays, notifications, and other unnecessary features in the settings and are difficult/confusing to disable. (Hard to explain, but you will find out) Doing the following is a necessity: - Turn Mic Sidetone all the way down - Turn off Volume Limiter - Enable extended range mode (Lower mic quality, but increased audio quality and range) - Disable Sonar - Enable EQ: Use the #Blud preset, and modify slightly if desired Headset microphones always suck, but passable if needed. Use a better mic, stop using headset microphones. ... show more

  • 3.5 Stars, where did all the high quality and affordable plug and play headsets go?
Style: PC Color: Black
I am a pc only gamer and only need to use my headsets for discord and non-competitive multiplayer games with my friends, and prefer to use speakers for single player. I did a lot of research trying to choose a new headset after my old Arctis 7's (dts) started to go out and really haven't been satisfied with anything I've found. All the cheaper headsets with the basic features I want are plastic crap, and all the nicer ones are overpriced with extra 'features' I'll never use on top of having terrible mandatory software/bloatware. I decided to take a chance on these after sifting through a lot of reviews as it seemed like they could be solid for what I need, which is just chatting in Discord while gaming. The GG Software and Sonar is not exactly intuitive but I was able to download someone else's EQ settings and use them pretty easily. Turning off sidetone also did not seem to impact the audio quality which I'm really thankful for. I do think this headset is also overpriced though. I'm still getting some weird fuzz every once in awhile and while I appreciate that the plastic materials are what help make the headset lighter, it overall feels really cheap for a $130 headset and I can see why it's broken or snapped for other users within or just over a year of regular use. It feels and sounds more like a $60 headset, and the only reasons I think I'll probably keep it are that I haven't been able to find anything better, and I was able to get it on a big sale for $80. My friends also did say that my voice was coming through much clearer and louder than on my previous mic. I would feel a lot better about the price if the band was metal and not plastic at least. ... show more

  • Comfortable and Functional
Style: PC Color: Black
One of the best headsets I own. 2.4GHZ mode is incredibly convenient, but the range could be a bit better. The audio is perfect for shooter games. I like the appearance and how comfortable the strap is.
