  • This Product Delivers
This product is a lifesaver. So much easier and faster than having to mix with a hoe. Fast and just does the job it was designed to do which is small projects. Also, as far as customer service goes, Stephen Steele has built a company where customer service is the reality that it should be, so lacking elsewhere. Highly recommend this product. It's a game changer for home owned and professional alike. ... show more

  • Don’t buy unless you love doing things the hard way
How would you like to purchase an overpriced product that somehow manages to make mixing concrete even harder? Well, have I got a product for you. The main flaw is that the container is made of thin plastic and constantly slips off the stand with anymore than 35-40lb of concrete. This makes mixing extremely difficult and frustrating and near impossible. I switched to a wheelbarrow which is a fraction of the price and works so much better. I was intrigued by this product and tried to use it on a DIY project but had to leave it in the field with 30lb of dried concrete inside the last time it failed. If you do plan on buying this, do not plan your project in a way that depends on this product working. I often think about products Made in the USA as having superior engineering and craftsmanship. This product is not that. Flimsy, poorly designed, and failing in its basic function. Stick to the wheelbarrow or an electric mixer. Trust me, you’ll be grateful you did. ... show more

  • Super impressive
This little thing has changed the way we mix! Im a residential GC and we do quite a few off jobs where we have to pour pads for AC equipment, stair landing or small utility cuts. This mixer is the absolute business for bagged concrete! This weekend we did (45) 50lb bags in the mixer, two at a time with no issues. Build quality is pretty durable, think street trash can but with much thicker plastic, and the metal stand has no give to it, we stood on it 😅. Notes: -for anyone having difficulty, the motion is not just rocking the handles from side to side, you sort of have to jiggle/stutter it as you turn the mixer to the side to get the 'ball' being mixed to detach and fall. This is the folding action that actually does the vast majority of the work. Was able to mix 100lbs in about a minute of work using the methods described here. -get a bucket and use a line inside to keep track of how much water you use. After a couple of cycles it becomes easy to get perfect consistency every time! -We bolted ours about 8" up on a wooden box and put a sheet of plywood under it angled into our form. Was way easy to just dump it there and rake it down into our form. -definitely going to modify ours with a locking collar for the other side. Figuring out you put the mixer the wrong way to lock it while your first bags are mixed already is annoying..... Other than that, build quality is extremely stout. think like a street trash can but with maybe double the thickness to the plastic. ... show more

  • Five star concept; three star product
UPDATE: I’m revising my review after having mixed over 100 bags of concrete. I originally gave it three stars but realized it deserves only two stars at best. My initial amusement turned into regret. The product is clever but poorly engineered. As is, it is more akin to an infomercial product than a dependable tool. I had to buy additional parts and modify it. Otherwise, it was wearing out fast. One issue is that the plastic axles grind as sand from the concrete coats them. I resolved that by inserting them in bearings. But the main issue with this tool is that the load is supported by disconnected axles. The walls of the tub aren’t sufficiently rigid, so the axles buckle causing the tub walls to collapse inward. You’ll notice that your shovel doesn’t fit as easily over time. I remedied this weak link by constructing an axle from black pipe and pipe flanges, which i attached to the tool’s independent axles (see pics). The tub no longer collapses inward and operation feels sturdier. If you need this tool to mix only a few bags occasionally, it’s adequate but expensive. If you need it to be a substitute for a bulky and heavy powered concrete mixer, you’ll need to beef it up. ... show more

  • Not as good as expected.
I like the design and the packaging. The Steele company and other video reviews seemed to indicated this would work well and quickly. We had the following issues: The product description says "Our non-electric mixer mixes cement material in under a minute + made here in the USA. " But the box says "Designed in the USA", "Veteran Owned Company", and "Made in China". The hardware counts in the package we incorrect, but insignificant. One to few small washers, one to many large washers. The brass lock plug fell out on first use, and every subsequent use. Lock was hard to engage and we had to move the whole body along the axle axis to allow the lock to work. We had to use a shovel to scrape dry to slight wet concrete out of the corners each time. 3 of my 4 crew members hated it. The one that finally got it work had to run a very wet mix and thoroughly clean it no more than every third bad. The body deflects significantly at the axle pins, with a load of wet 60 lb concrete. 3 times it fell through the frame, and we had to unload it and fight it back into position. Ran this with a wheel barrow crew hoping this would speed things up, it did not. My crew lead told me I could have bought two nice wheel barrows instead, and we would have finished the job today. He was right. Would not buy again and DO NOT Recommend. Buy a good wheel barrow instead. ... show more

  • Smaller bags work better.
Excellent purchase. Functional. Fairly easy to use. Pouring requires some forethought. Needs to be elevated if pouring into a bucket or form. Needs reinforcement at pivot. Larger bags of material cause the plastic body to pull in towards the center which threatens the swinging pivot popping off the inside of the stand. ... show more
