  • Very Powerful, rather large
So far I have mixed approx 20 buckets of compound for texturing walls and ceilings for a basement remodel. I purchased this item after burning up two Dewalt 20V 980 series drills from mixing mud as well. Decided to step up to a larger model, slower speeds, and 60V system. Tons of power for mixing mud and with the very long extension handle, it makes controlling the drill easy. I run the 2.0AH FlexVolt batteries and it will last 10-15 buckets easily per charge. My batteries are not new, and I usually throw them back on the charge at lunch either way but will easily last an entire day if working with a one-two man crew and not a professional. The drill is large, so if you are storing it in a dewalt box system or similar, please take that into consideration. It will fit in the Dewalt Tool storage sliding drawers, but I just store mine in the included bag as I dont use it everyday unless in drywall mode. Great drill! Great price as a tool only kit! ... show more

  • Great mixer.
This thing is just like the corded version. Very strong. I use it mainly for mixing thinset, self leveling compound and a little drywall mud every now and then.

  • Practical for electrical work. 4.75 stars out of 5
This machine makes drilling for pre wires a joy. Its additional power, weight and size and the long side handle gives more control when handling longer larger auger bits. The DCD996 (RIP) has/had enough power for those also, but I found it was harder to control due to its shorter scale and less rigid clamshell. The mixer/drill allows me to distance myself further away from the work piece, which means I have better balance; reaching into tighter spots with longer augers. I also picked up a DCD796 which is a surprisingly good drill. Fits the DCD996 side handle and goes where the mixer/drill can't. The DCD996 is a great all rounder if I could only choose one drill. The DCD130 is just in another class, for the price, it wasn't much more than my Hitachi corded drill, but a massive improvement in safety and convenience. Time will tell if it last as long. My drill may have been a returned item as the chuck holes were dented, probably from the chuck key. The mixer drill seems a bit slower in reverse than in forward, though I haven't notice a lag in power. If it helps, I'm not a big person, around 145lbs 5ft8" and found this drill to be quite comfortable to use with a 9.0ah battery. ... show more

  • Perfect solution when cordless and power count.
Works great! Use in poultry houses to let up feed and water lines. Perfect for the job! Biggest plus is no longer dragging an extension cord around!

  • This thing is a BEAST if your planning to use for an augur!
Love this thing for what I am using it for. I got the bug to start planting plants, however I live in central texas and the ground here is super compacted and heavy clay and rocks. Trying to dig holes with a shovel, while possible, by the time your on your 3rd or 4th hole, you are done for the day. I wanted to plant a hedge line, but no way was I going to dig it with a shovel. Then started my journey looking at augers. Some super cheap around the 200 dollar mark up to pretty expensive, but the thing I kept reading it how easy it is for augers to twist your wrists as soon as you hit a rock. I then started looking at auger bits and drills. I figured I would spend a little more than I wanted (as 60v batteries aint cheap), however then I would have a powerful drill and an auger. There I found a lot of recommendations but kept hearing the DCD130 was the best. I scoured online, asked AI, all the above and finally decided on DCD130 after people saying "yeah that drill is great, but thats only because you haven't tried the DCD130 Once I got the drill and auger bit, I charged it up and went outside to start drilling holes. I bought a 7" auger bit and I have to say I was extremely impressed. I was able to dig holes with relative ease. I hit a lot of rocks but the drills safety mechanism kicked in and just stopped. Never once was I afraid of crackin' my bones. I ended up digging 32 holes with this on a 9Ah battery and dont even thing I used 1 bar. I cant remember how long it took, maybe an hour or so but WOW this thing rocks. If you looking for a drill that you can use with Augers - This is the one! Plus then you will have a hefty drill. I have also been looking for whatever other 60v tools is out there that I can buy. 60v is POWERFUL! Highly recommend! ... show more
