  • Quiet, light and does the job
Style: SAUQ-1105
The media could not be loaded. In the video attached, you can see that it is very quiet. The "sound meter" is just a phone app and probably not all that accurate. The ambient room noise was about 32db for comparison. I had two other videos to attach, but Amazon only allows one now. In one of the other videos, the other compressor I have (an H.F. 150 psi, 6 gallon unit) is heavy, not all that powerful and VERY LOUD at 87db. The Stealth doesn't seem as loud as the video shows, and I don't think it is. All that said, this is a great little compressor for my needs. I use it for filling tires and my brad nailer and it works fine. I added a 25', 3/8" hose to it which seems to increase the tank capacity a bit. Whith this hose, the compressor will start running almost immediately when filling tires, but the pressure doesn't seem to drop much. I did a lot of comparison shopping with almost every 1 gallon "quiet" compressor I could find, and for the price, this one is well built, has yet to leak down with no hoses or attachments, is quiet and compact. It has sturdy rubber feet and a nice cord wrap attached. It's pretty light weight and completely framed keeping it from damage. I would buy this again! ... show more

  • Great machine
Style: SAUQ-1105-1
I mostly use small compressors for interior trim work. I had an Alltrade compact compressor that served me well for years, but it finally died. I have a CH pancake compressor that works well, but it's much to loud to use indoors. I have to place it outside, but that can be a problem in some situations. So, it was time to buy a quiet, compact compressor. After much searching, I settled on this one, taking a chance on an unknown brand. After some use, I can say that I'm truly impressed. It's surprisingly quiet, which was the most important feature. But it has a number of other features that make it a great buy. First, I noticed that it's nicely powder coated in a beautiful color. The rubber pads on the feet are large, and a good durometer for absorbing vibration. The fittings are high quality, including a 1/4 turn ball valve for the tank drain. The regulator knob is large and easy to adjust. They even included hooks to wrap the power cord for storage and transport, which is a thoughtful detail that none of my other compressors have. There's a nice rubber grip on the carry handle. I find the chassis is well designed in that most of the components are within the tubular frame, so there's less likelihood of damage to the pressure switch, regulator, gauges, etc. Overall, I'm very happy with this machine. It's very quiet, well made, and looks good. A bit heavier than my other compressors, but I'll gladly accept that for the protection and durability. ... show more

  • Great for airbrushing in the home.
Style: SAQ-1234
I began airbrushing early this year, starting with a beginner kit that had a 12-volt tankless compressor. I quickly replaced it when I realized it was pulsing air through the airbrush. I next bought a Master brand compressor with a 1-liter tank. For low pressure painting with acrylic paints, it worked fine. But as I transitioned to trying enamel paints and varnishes, which need higher air pressures, the little Master compressor couldn't keep up with me. After a lot of research, I decided to get this Stealth compressor. So far, I'm pleased. This compressor is only ever so slightly louder than the Master, which is whisper quiet, yet doesn't struggle to keep its tank filled as I use my airbrush with specific mediums. For those wanting numbers, here we go: As I rattle off these pressure ratings, I am referring to the pressure at the airbrush, not the tank pressure. For properly thinned acrylic paints I run about 15-30 PSI but stick to around 20 PSI. My little Master compressor can keep up here, unless I start pushing the 30 PSI mark. With regards to enamel paints, I only airbrush Testors brand paint that has been thinned with Testors brand thinner. Even thinned, I've found that pressures of 30-45 PSI work best here. The Master compressor fails to keep up and runs non-stop. After a few minutes of airbrushing, I have to stop for a minute to let the compressor get enough air to get me that higher pressure at the airbrush. For varnishes, I'm using Vallejo matte airbrush varnish, and U.S. Art Supply Gloss Topcoat. My General Art Supply thinner doesn't work with either of these sealants, so I have to spray them straight from the bottle. I need pressures at around 40-50 PSI here and the Master compressor flat out can't maintain this kind of pressure for more than a few seconds. This Stealth compressor handles all of these scenarios with ease, only starting and running for a few seconds every few minutes to keep its tank topped off. I get no air pulsing, and thanks to its easily accessible drain valve at the tank, I don't get moisture in my airline (I do have a water trap installed though). As mentioned, this Stealth compressor is only a decibel or two louder than the Master compressor, which is whisper-quiet, so running this compressor in my basement bedroom "studio" is no issue at all, even later in the evenings when the household upstairs is winding down for the night. My only two gripes are very minor and mostly caused by my situation, not by any fault of this compressor. The first is that, by comparison to the little Master compressor, this Stealth isn't nearly as portable. I keep the compressor under a side table next to my art desk. When I used the Master compressor and needed to adjust the output pressure, I could reach under the table, pull the compressor to myself, and make the adjustment. That's not possible with this compressor since the room is carpeted and the desk has a thick mat under it in the possible event of spills. So, when I need to adjust the pressure on this Stealth, I have to crawl under my art desk to access the adjustment knob. Again, not any fault of this compressor, so I don't hold this against it. But for someone in a situation like mine, this is noteworthy. The second is the work I had to do to rig up my airbrush kit to this compressor. Once more, no fault of this compressor as it's intended to be used with common pneumatic equipment, not airbrushes. This compressor comes with a female 1/4" quick disconnect preinstalled. I didn't want to modify this compressor by removing that, so after a lot of research with only guessed answers, I wound up with a male 1/4" quick disconnect fitting that has male 1/4" NPT threads. To this fitting, I connected (with teflon tape) an adapter that at one end, has female 1/4" NPT threads, and 1/8" BSP(T) male threads at the other end. This allowed me to connect my water trap and airbrush line to this compressor. This setup does slowly leak, about 8 PSI an hour, but for the way I use my airbrushes, this is negligible. Overall, I'm very pleased with this compressor and it's performance. I fervently hope it turns out to be a sturdy, reliable unit for many years to come. ... show more

  • Soo quiet
Style: SAUQ-1105-1
Quiet as my fish tank air pump. Picked up this unit to keep the tire pressure perfect on my dually & 5th wheel while working on the road. Runs of the truck inverter & is quiet & quick to fill up the tires. Update 12/18/2024. Got a flat tire recently & had to pump up a nearly empty spare front tire on the dually. Took forever to fill the tire up. 30-40min? I’d pump up the tires 3-5psi then wait 2-3min for the air compressor to refill. Slowed down the higher the tire pressure got. Nice little pump but I’m going to upgrade to a 6gal pancake compressor for the next flat that I get. This works solely for ATVs & topping off full size tires. ... show more

  • Impressively quiet but quite heavy
Style: SAQ-1301
This compressor arrived tossed in my driveway from a very slow shipper. Box dented and dinged pretty good with rips and holes all over it, but compressor seemed to be fine when I opened it to inspect. Lifted the puppy out of the box and damn near got a hernia; quite heavy for such a small package. Plugged it in and ran it for the 30 minutes they require for break-in. No issues at all and impressively quiet. they say a normal conversation is approximately 95 decibels and this thing runs at 94 decibels. It is really quiet. I hope it lasts, but time will tell. ... show more
