  • Very Good + Affordable!
Style: 4 Port (USB 2.0) Size: 130 or 165 ft
I have used a passive USB extender from Gefen over a 15' length, but needed something more robust that could handle more than just a keyboard & mouse. Gefen is top-of-the-line, but you pay a big premium for that. The StarTech extender allows me to plug in keyboard, mouse & a Logitehc HD webcam for Zoom meetings without issues. It has more ports than I am using, so I tried adding a USB powered ring light to the mix, but that stopped everything from working. Not sure if that was due to the limitations of the StarTech or the ring light's power consumption, so currenty that is a no-go. Other than that, no complaints! ... show more

  • Digital Noise and Delay with Audio
Style: 1 Port (USB 2.0) Size: 165 ft / 50m
I'm trying to extend the USB audio from a Behringer Wing console. We have the remote device powered and connected to the audio console. And the local device connected to a MacBook running Logic Pro. We're able to see the Wing console interfaces populate. But the audio is unacceptable. The audio sounds delayed. It sounds like you can here the remote device sending power over the wire. Like ditigal Morse code. I purchased the device that supports up to 165ft. We've remade our CAT6 by hand a few times with a 115ft run. And then purchased a factory made, 125ft, shielded CAT6. And we're still having the same issue. Is this a known issue? Do we need to return/replace this device? Do we need power at both ends of this USB extender? We only recieved one power cord. Do we need to try the device that supports ~300 ft? Thanks. ... show more

  • Problem solver... With one caveat
Style: 4 Port (USB 2.0) Size: 330 ft
I had a need to connect 3 webcams to a single computer. The cameras are ceiling mounted with a plenum space above. This unit does a great job making the cameras available to the computer. However, on a regular basis I have needed to power off the remote unit when it and the computer stop talking. This could be a problem if, like my situation the unit is not conveniently located. I solved the power off/on option by putting a remote wireless power switch (the kind commonly used with Christmas lights) with the unit in the plenum space. When it loses connection I can cycle the power without getting out a ladder. Overall this unit solved a real problem for a very important conference room project. We have only used it for a total of 6-7 hours, but it feels solid and professionally designed and built. ... show more

  • A great solution for extending USB devices over long distances.
Style: 4 Port (USB 2.0) Size: 130 or 165 ft
We used this device at a company summit to extend USB devices from the back of the room where the controlling computers were, to the stage at the front of the room. We plugged our presentation clicker receivers into this device so the clickers weren't having to travel over 150ft to the receiver. We found that when the room fills up with people who have cell phones using the 2.4Ghz band, clickers stopped working due to interference. Having the clickers close to the presenters mitigated this issue. ... show more

  • Works well with webcam using 40ft CAT6 cable
Style: 2 Port (USB 2.0) Size: 330 ft
I am using this in our company's conference room to connect a PC that is in a closet to a Logitech webcam that is sitting above a widescreen monitor using a CAT6 cable that is about 40ft long. It works very well so far. I recommend it. Setup is easy with no configuration required: - Plug in the power supply to the "Home" unit (no power needed at remote unit). - Attach USB cable from the "Home" unit to PC. - Attach CAT6 cable from "home" unit to "Remote" unit. - Plug in whatever USB device you want to "Remote" unit. - PC discovers USB device. Remote unit has 2 USB ports but I am only using 1. So I don't know if using both ports changes anything. ... show more

  • but that is bunch of crap. They do not work
Style: 4 Port (USB 2.0) Size: 130 or 165 ft
Just wanted to take few minutes and write this. This actually works. I have tried many others that do advertise these options, but that is bunch of crap. They do not work. 160-200 Feet works like a charm. Over CAT6. It is a little pricy but It is worth it. Before you buy anything else, give this product a chance. It just works! This is what I tried before I got to this: Only Mouse & Keyboard works, and a webcam (video only) if you are lucky. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00K5IHYG0?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00 Mouse and Keyboard only. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GQRZSMG?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00 Mouse http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FZHUU6M?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00 ... show more

  • Works as advertised and 20 bucks cheaper than ICRONs version and its the exact same product.
Style: 2 Port (USB 2.0) Size: 330 ft
This product works flawlessly. Used it on a boat to go from the Doghouse two levels down to a box in the mast and it worked with no issues over a standard CAT 6 cable. if you need to have a device with power only locally and no remote power you need to use the 2 or the 4 port version the 1 port version needs power at both ends. ... show more
