I have used this sand cleaner several times now and found it to be 100% worth the money. The long tube is perfect for the height of my 3ft tall 160G tank. (It can be trimmed to fit for shorter tanks.) It is plenty long enough to reach to the back places in my tank. The diameter of the tube, about an inch, is just the right size to slip into tight spots for a good cleaning. The soft silicon drain tube supplied is very flexible and makes the cleaning process super easy because you are not dealing with a stiff drain tube like other cleaning kits. I find that I can easily control the suction with a little pinch of the soft drain tube in one hand while working the cleaning tube with the other. I pinch the tube just so to allow good draw on the sediment while allowing the sand to settle back. I could not be more pleased with the results. I find I am able to easily control sand scattering; thus making the cleaning a very controlled process without leaving sand all over the corals. The pump on the end of the tube works very well, a few pumps gets the flow going. The kit comes with a drain tube clip and a spare. The clip is super handy for holding the drain tube in the waste water bucket. I also use it to clip the tube to the handle at the pump when storing it way. This makes it nice as the tube is not just laying on the floor in the closet. The shovel-nosed adapter for the end makes for a gentler sand cleaning. However, I found it would take a while for the sand that had been drawn into the tube to slowly fall back out. My preference is to use the cleaner with just an open tube at the end. It works great like that. I believe the shovel-nosed adapter would be perfect for fresh water tanks with gravel. Overall, the product very well thought out and allows me to complete a mess free water change with very little cleanup afterwards. I never get my hands wet in the process. If sand cleaning is not part of your reef tank maintenance, then it should be. Sand cleaning can be a messy chore, but this product makes it super easy and not a chore at all.

I bought this because it was so hard to get good flow in my 5gal with traditional vacuums, even the ones recommended for 1gal+. This one is so incredibly easy to use and very sturdy!! I was a little apprehensive about what the quality would be when purchasing, but I took a shot anyway and I'm very happy with it!

Bought this product because I have a 75 Gallon Fish tank that I have my turtle named Franklin in. I have a self-feeder and a relatively industrial-sized filter to clean the tank, but the tank was getting almost a nasty yellow tint, and thought my turtle would be dead in days. To my surprise, my greedy little turtle doesn't eat the food pellets and a large number of food flakes pile at the bottom, which I believed to be the problem. I originally bought a hose to take all the tank water out, but that didn't work. So I went ahead and bought this product and it works exactly as advertised. It got the job done and helped clear almost 80-90% of the crap on the bottom of the tank. I Will have to use it often, but as soon as I removed the remnants of food and replaced the water, the tank looked much better. I would suggest buying for anyone that needs to get stuff out from the bottom of the tank without having to suck all the water out. Unfortunately, it does also suck a lot of water out, but replacing that water with new water will probably do your aquatic specimens some good. TLDR; worth it to suck the remnants of food and crap off the bottom of your tank. Quick and Easy.

This product does what it says it will do. It’s just cumbersome. The squeeze trigger is difficult to use unless your hands are very strong. I found it took longer to finish the job than usual. The suction is weak. It is easy to assemble, but the wording of instructions is not clear.. The pictures in the instructions are blurry, as if the printer was out of ink. It was easier just to assemble without the instructions. I think some people would find this product to be adequate for cleaning the aquarium and easy enough to assemble, even without instructions.

I tried a few other gravel cleaners but this one by far is the best. The long tube helps prevent the gravel from traveling up the tube and clogging the intake. The trigger mechanism works very well to pull the water up. The outgoing tube is quite long and convenient. Finally, the ability to attach this to the side of the tank is quite helpful for hands free operation.
