I finally have a reliable, well-built table for drawing while in my recliner. The swivel top is smooth and silent, swinging away so I can check my work. It works over an existing side table, so I can have my tools and snacks handy. I added a padded under-desk footrest, and use it as a backrest for my iPad. It gives a wider range of elevations to work from than typical lifts. The table works flawlessly and I’m thrilled. It’s perfect. Oh! Few products are life-changing. This certainly changed mine. For everyone who spends a lot of time at home working on a laptop, the ability to do this on a completely stable surface that swivels easily out of your way while sitting on your comfortable couch (instead of on the floor) is amazing. Especially if you are older, and getting up and down from the floor all day (no matter how comfortable your cushions and backrest are), gets tiresome. I own three laptop riser stands, of different heights and weights, and they greatly improved my ease in using my laptop in the living room (who wants to sit at their office desk all day?) But the problem with riser stands, especially those with taller extendable legs, is that they are not stable. I learned this the hard way when my big high-end ASUS laptop got knocked off the riser onto the floor. It cost me $500+ to replace the motherboard ! After that experience, I finally relented and bought this laptop stand/TV tray table. I hesitated because of the price and because I didn't want a piece of 'furniture' in front of my couch all the time. But I wish I had bought this product a long time ago, because it is great -- not only as a laptop stand, but also as a TV tray for eating at. The best part is that you can adjust the tray to any height you like (not pre-set increments like risers) and just push the tray lightly to the side when you are ready to get up off the couch. The tray swivels easily in many directions, so you can leave your laptop or food on it without fear that anything will tip over. It is a large and very stable surface. The assembly was pretty easy. The tray comes with all the tools you need. It took me a few hours, but I am a middle-aged woman who does not have a lot of 'home improvement' skills. If you can assemble a piece of IKEA furniture, you can assemble this. I see that some reviewers complained that this table does not fit under their armchairs, and I can see how that may be a problem. But if you have a couch, you will not have an issue. The base of the stand slides to fit a pretty big range of depths (the distance between your front and back legs, and then you simply tighten the bolts to keep it stable. Similarly, the height is easily adjustable to clear your couch arm, and you tighten the bolt when you are happy with the result. No more backache/neck ache from bending over to use your laptop! You can position it as close or far as you want. This is a simple but great product. I only wish I had bought this years ago. A++++

TL/DR: If you ignore the rather institutional look, this is a terrific sofa/chair table from a functional and ergonomic standpoint. It’s sturdy, and the table arm and rotating table top both swing easily, but not TOO easily, so they don’t inappropriately move with use. The table is a generous size without feeling too big, and the table top is a nice, sturdy, natural bamboo. The various adjustments allow a custom, ergonomic fit that works with most furniture, although furniture leg type affects how well. It’s also reasonably priced given the quality and features. While the base is not ideally suited to my recliner’s base, I do not regret my purchase and highly recommend. =========================================== I suffer from physical disability and chronic pain issues related to Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and its many comorbidities. As I’ve aged, things have gotten bad enough that function and comfort increasingly win over beauty or cool factor. I love “attractive”, but I NEED items that enhance my quality of life! I recently broke down and bought a La-Z-Boy power rocker-recliner - and the most comfortable one for my body, NOT the most suited to my decor. TOTALLY recommend getting one, regardless of your physical status or design style! Just amazing comfort! Going all in on comfort and function, I paired my beloved La-Z-Boy with this Able Life Universal Swivel TV Tray table, and it’s now my favorite spot in the house. I’m not much of a TV person, and I can’t play video games until I’ve healed from recent hand surgery, so I’m enjoying my recovery downtime reading and consuming content on my iPad Pro. This tray table has been perfect for (mostly) hands-free, ergonomic reading. Anyone looking for a way to work, game, craft, or eat from a chair or sofa can benefit from this versatile table. In my setup, my iPad Pro hovers over the tray table via a Lamicall Gooseneck Tablet holder, for reading and browsing content. The awesome Feker Alice 80 wireless keyboard sits at the ready for typing and one-key page turning. The table also holds my iPhone, my La-Z-Boy recliner remote, my reading and/or regular eyeglasses (stored in one of those desktop, faux fur-lined, dual eyeglass holders), a dandy leather “Jotlet” discbound notepad by Levenger, a nice pen, lip balm, hand cream, dry eye drops, etc. Instead of the plastic cup holder sold for this table, I picked up a more attractive, wood and metal, clamp-on cup holder from IKEA. I love mine, but third party options will likely come with the caveat that they rest below the table top vs. flush with it, like Able Life’s, so do keep in mind leg room needs/cup holder placement. I highly recommend a cup holder of SOME sort, as it frees up table space and eliminates the risk of spills. The reason for one star off is unfortunately the suboptimal and needlessly frumpy base. Its unattractiveness would be insignificant if the design actually worked for my situation, but it doesn’t. While it’s adjustable, the base is just too unnecessarily tall, and it’s too narrowly designed, as it’s made specifically to work with chairs and sofas that have corner “feet”. My recliner doesn’t have feet. Instead, the flat wood base runs front to back under each side of the recliner in a single piece per side (I think it’s called a sled base?). As the tray table is currently designed, my recliner’s one-piece, left-side “sled” base can’t make contact with the rubber pads, but instead floats on the metal rim of the front and back sections of the table base. Because of this, my lightweight recliner slides over, and eventually OFF, the table’s base when I get up. This means I have to lift and move my recliner BACK onto the table base multiple times daily, with my (severely carpal/cubital tunnel affected) “good” hand and arm (spoiler: they’re not good at all), since my left is bandaged and stitched due to recent surgery. Mind you, this tray table is marketed to the elderly and infirm! Able Life needs to take heed of how the Vivo Swivel Couch Desk incorporates a FLAT metal base - a great choice in an otherwise inferior quality design. The flat base is more versatile, accommodating more chair leg/base styles, while creating less of an imbalance in height between the left and right sides of a chair or couch. It also looks more modern and less “nursing home chic” than the current base, especially because it’s black and not “industrial medical brown”. I’m actually debating finding someplace local to unweld and swap out the table base, assuming it’s possible, to better suit my needs. Having said that, I did a lot of research before choosing the Able Life tray table, and it was THE best overall option when looking at a combination of function, quality, price, looks, and availability, so I don’t regret the purchase - and again, I strongly recommend.

I love this product! I got this for an elderly relative who likes eating her meals while seated on the sofa watching tv. A regular tray table would have posed a tripping hazard, would have to be picked up and moved in and out of place, and could easily be knocked over. It just wouldn't have worked. By contrast, the Wonder Tray table assembly is held securely in place under the sofa feet, and the table top swings freely out of the way when not in use. My relative doesn't need any assistance to use it. Product support from Stander is great too. I had a question and they quickly responded to my inquiry and handled my issue more than satisfactorily. Just make sure you make a note of the Lot # of the product before you install it under the furniture legs, because the Lot # is on sticker on the underside of a bottom plate. The company will ask for the Lot # if you ever need product support. I bought an earlier version of this Stander tray table years ago when I needed a spacious keyboard tray under a table that I was using for a desk. The table top was too high for the keyboard, and the center drawer prevented me from attaching a keyboard tray to the underside of the table. The Stander tray table is adjustable in height, fits neatly under the desk, and swings out of the way when I don't need it. I use it every day. Some may think it is a little pricey but it has been exactly what I needed in more than one situation and well worth it. It is easily assembled, sturdy, adjustable, unique, and versatile. I love it.

I'll preface with my dislike: The ridge around edge. It digs into you wrist/ arm if you use it for laptop typing. I get the intended purpose, but if it was at least smooth on one side it would be much more comfortable. Otherwise, it works great, easy to use, holds a lot more weight than I expected it to. Yes it will dip down a bit but still swivels smoothly.

This was the only swing away/swivel couch table I could find, and that part works well. The table does not tilt, but it turns. You have the swivel arm that pivots from the vertical bar, but the table also spins from the center attachment point. (not loosely, you have to move it on purpose) Great when you want to turn your laptop to show someone something or reach an accessory. The foot pad thingies do not come close enough together to use with a power recliner. Not across the front or the side. I might be able to take the adjustment bar in somewhere and have it cut down, but until then, hubby cut a square of plywood about 6" bigger than the chair base on all sides. And we shoved the feet of this table under that, and put smaller blocks under the other side so the chair isn't cattywampus from having the table base under it on one side. Except now the chair slides around very easily. Not ideal when you have mobility issues. The bar that the tabletop attaches to hits my legs because of the workaround to use the not-actually-universal base. Yes, it's height adjustable, but not in smaller increments. Like, for a chair or a bed or different types of couches. Not for if the bar hits you in the legs because you had to build something to make it fit. I'm going to have to drill a new hole in order to make this work. They need to make it adjust to a smaller distance between the front and back feet of the table. I see many other reviews saying it does not fit their chair or couch, too. I don't think "universal" means what the manufacturer thinks it does. Assembly was easy enough, and the directions were easy to follow even if the print was miniscule. Have a couple paper towels on hand when you unpack it - the base had grease all over the underside. I'm a bit salty that the accessories are all add on purchases instead of just included. The table has predrilled holes that are mostly in the correct spots (not all were) for the accessories, so it's not like the accessories were so new the table couldn't be packaged with them. I seriously don't think a cupholder is a $15 item, but anything for a buck a guess. The accessories come with four screws each, and there are predrilled holes in the bottom of the tabletop for them. The junk tray only goes in one spot, but the cupholder has two locations it could be placed. Just line up the holes in the accessory with the pre-drilled holes and screw the screws in. On mine, three of four holes were correctly placed on each item. The fourth hole wasn't even visible when the other three were lined up. Fortunately, the wood is soft enough that you can still screw the last screw in. The table arm is too short. It needs another arm the same length so it can sort of accordion in or out for precise placement, or even just a longer one in the first place. The table does not come in front of you, even if you could pull it across your lap without bruising your legs. It comes about halfway. So I can sit with this at an angle to me and twist to the side a bit to type. Not great when you thought you could use this to work from home, or even just to use more than a few minutes at a time. I still have room to hold a child on my lap when the desk is in place. TLDR: + swivel/swing away tabletop with wide range of motion + tabletop can be spun completely around + sturdy construction + does not look like a hospital bed table + straightforward instructions - definitely not universal - doesn't fit power recliners - undersides of base had grease all over them - building a base to stabilize it makes the tabletop bar hit you in the legs - the base 'feet' only go under one side of your chair so you will be cattywampus unless the chair has leg levelers - instructions text is very small - accessories that it should have come with are overpriced and seperately purchased - accessory holes are pre-drilled, but not all in the right places - does not tilt - table top only comes part of the way in front of you - support arm is too short Final Impression: I can make this work. I built a base that makes it fit and fixes the difference in height from the feet of the base under one side only. Will be able to drill a new height adjustment peg hole so it doesn't hit me in the legs. May be able to cut down the adjustment bar to go short enough that I don't need the built base, and then use leg levelers to fix the difference in height from one side to the other. I can make this work - but for the price, I shouldn't have to.

The tray is great. The XL is huge. I’m using it with a lift chair, and it fits the lift chair perfectly. The tray is sturdy. I had an issue with one of the bolts, and customer service was fantastic. They FedExed me a replacement part right away. I couldn’t be more happy with this tray.

It does wobble when I bump it but it does rest on one arm - totally expected. It will hold enough weight to not bend if your cat jumps up (still - she won't like the wobble). Using it as a TV tray is very safe, even for drinks. I use it most often for Zoom. The arm moves easily and, with the frame anchored under my couch legs there is no possibility of it falling and the flanges fit well even though the couch legs are quite blocky. The robo-vac doesn't get high centered on it, it goes around the base just fine. The height is very easy to adjust and doesn't slip. I do use a floor-standing magnifying lamp that has to be close to the couch end seat and which the base must be between the base of the table and the couch so the lamp is close enough to use. The table base flanges that go under the legs of the couch are long enough to allow for that and still hold solidly. In the end, I could use a more solid swing arm but I think that it's not worth the likely-hood that I will find one, particularly with the same long reach or that isn't some serious-weight steel. There are a lot of benefits and it's well worth what I paid.
