Just like many other reviews, arrived with the outside box half open You would think Solera would do a better job packaging. Maybe cheaper to replace a few parts than to package better? I got lucky the only thing damaged was the drive moter plastic housing. I purchased a new one from Solera and Amazon credited my account. This is hard to review because product is good but very poor packaging and a large problem to get one shipped ok. 3 came so damaged that where unusable and missing parts due to poor packaging. The 4th came ok and I used it. It worked well. This is a good product if they could get it to you not destroyed. These replacement arms for my 5th wheel awning totally fit the bill. First, they arrived 2 days earlier than predicted and packaging was intact. They were easy to install because they were prewired and predrilled so replacing the existing arms was quite simple. The whole job took less than 2 hours. I had to replace the arms because they got bent in an overnight windstorm (lesson learned don't leave the awning out when weather is predicted). ... show more

It worked out to be about 1.5" above where the old heads were. It's above the RV, and when rolled out isn't lower on the end, have to pull down the sides to make it that way. When rolling up, any water on the fabric is leaning towards the RV. Uncomfortable with that.

Worked great. Better than OEM due to the power drill retraction back-up capability and the better color selection. The polarity for extend/retract was opposite than the original so could have just wired the red to black and vice versa. Quality seems good in this item. We didn't install ourselves but our friend that did it for us said it was a fairly easy installation. It is super quiet while in operation too.
