Constantly turns off. Just shell out the money for a better one and use this one as an inconspicuous backup if needed, not a main surveillance source. UPDATE: Actually, do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY FROM THIS CAMERA and do NOT sign up on the CloudEdge app. The cloud service offered for this camera is from a Chinese/Japanese company (sorry, I cannot read the script) which wouldn’t be a problem, if it worked and there were actual representatives to speak with. If you ever have an issue with the camera, there is no email to contact, no number to call. Simply a messaging option through the app itself that is NEVER RESPONDED TO. I paid for the yearly cloud subscription service and when I realized the issues I was having, I tried to shut down my account ASAP. As you probably expected by now, that was impossible to the point where Apple had to get involved and they were also unable to find anything. No refund- I would even accept a pro-rated refund- was available for me. They continued trying to charge the monthly payment but I disputed through PayPal and at least got my payment back through them. Lastly, you have to give this app way too much permission and access to your information. It’s not safe to use as there are no human representatives available. I started having issues with my router and ALL devices also connected- AirPods, Apple Watch, even my email- and my Verizon agent claims the app contains malware. Since deleting the app (since I was again unable to delete my account) the issues have gotten slightly better (haven’t completely gone away) but now I’m short the payment for the physical camera and then the payment for the cloud service. STAY AWAY! If you are absolutely desperate and need this as it is a cheaper option, USE A SEPARATE/NEW EMAIL that isn’t also connected to anything sensitive or important. I don’t know what to tell you about the permissions/access to your info that this app needs as I don’t know if there is a way around it. Anything connected to the router your camera is also connected to is also jeopardized. Don’t purchase ANY of the subscriptions as it’s all garbage.

Setting up this system was a breeze. The cameras are wireless and easy to mount, so you don't need a professional installer or any extensive knowledge about setting up a surveillance system. The cameras themselves are compact, have a clean, minimalist design, and their black color blends well with most exterior home settings. The video quality is good at 1080p resolution, providing clear and sharp images. This makes it easy to discern details which can be crucial for security purposes. Night vision performance is also commendable, offering fairly clear images even in low light conditions. The system's ability to run on two AA lithium batteries for up to two years is an excellent feature, saving you from constant recharging or battery replacement. Unfortunately, one area where the system falls short is the length of the video playback clips. The maximum duration is only one minute, which feels quite restrictive. A situation may arise where a longer recording would be beneficial, and it's unfortunate that there's no option to increase this duration to 5 or 10 minutes. This limitation means you may miss crucial moments if an incident lasts longer than a minute, which can be a significant drawback in a security setup. The system comes with motion detection functionality, which does a reasonable job detecting movement and sending alerts to your mobile device. However, the response time for alerts could be improved to provide more timely notifications.

I've never had to use security camera's before, but after an unfortunate incident, it was time for me to join in on having one. I went with this one simply due to price. Therefore, I wasn't sure what I'd expect in terms of quality and functionality. However, it's worked VERY well. The app is easy to use. I was able to set up the camera in a matter of mere minutes and get it all ready to go. The motion sensor works well. I ordered a SD card and it accepted it right away without any issues. A great security camera, especially if you're just starting out like I was.

I just got it and set it up, and don't know yet if will work remotely from outside my home. I hope to update this review. In the instructions, it says to scan the QR Code or go into Google Play and search for CloudEdge. I am posting now to let people know that somehow hackers hijacked the landing site of the QR code for the Google Play app. It goes to a website (not Play). The link has a long name that has CloudEdge in it after some slashes, but it is not CloudEdge. It requires your credit card information including the three digit code on the card. It says that for a free subscription you will not be charged, but down at the bottom it says you will be charged a high fee after 30 or 90 days (I don't remember which). I was foolish enough to input my credit card information, but fortunate that it would not accept my info since it won't accept Amex (or so it claimed, we'll see). So then I went into Google Play and searched for CloudEdge, and the CloudEdge app showed up. No credit card info required. The app loaded and it worked. The QR code issue is some kind of phishing scam. I assume the manufacturer probably knows about it by now but won't recall the product just to insert a new instruction sheet, which they must print up. I assume that's the reason for the price drop, just to unload this batch, but all that is guesswork. I don't know the situation with the IOS (Apple) QR code. Be careful!
