Pretty solid construction, i don't think. It would be my first choice for tying a machine down but maybe as a secondary anchor point. Steel thickness and heft is there for these and welds didn't look bad. For my application it is a hair short so ill have to notch the bottom of my stake pockets to pin it but on a standard pocket this should be adequate. I look forward to not having to drop a hook down into the pocket! I wouldn't say the price is bad either they are pretty solid feeling units.

Picked these up for the off chance I need a D Ring because I can't use the stake pocket. Build quality looks great, welds are nice. Wouldn't hesitate to use them for anything. Only issue I found, they don't sit flush all the way down on part of my trailer just because of the way my trailer is made on the front. Could easily trim some off and they'd work fine. Still can use them, just have to use a different pin hole.

I chose these stake rail pocket D-rings from STARLEAPARTS for my husband’s dovetail car hauler. We live on a ranch and he is always hauling a vehicle or piece of equipment. After receiving these, he decided to permanently install them by drilling through the sides of the stake pockets ( on the trailer) and to use high grade bolts to attach them. He also mentioned that inside one of the stake pocket on the trailer - there was something that kept the D-Ring insert from seating all the way so he used his metal chop saw and cut a small 45 degree cut on one corner of one insert to allow it to fit. This was not due to anything wrong with this product - just based on the build of his trailer and accommodating the insert. His opinion of these inserts is that they are very heavy duty, well made with heavy D-Rings and the holes for the keeper pins were a great size to convert to bolt-in instead of removable inserts. He thinks the price of $42.99 at the time of this review is a deal and he wants to order more for a different trailer. He recommends these to anyone wanting more secure ways to use their chains or tie downs. I hope our thoughts and photos help someone.

Because of the way my dump trailer is made, I couldn't get these to work... although the stake pockets are short enough for them, there's a lip above them that these won't slide past... it's a shame because having some heavy duty tie down points seems like a great idea!

These pocket stakes will likely hold more than the weld on the pocket is capable of holding. Adjusts for various heights of pockets. Only two downsides are that the depth is not adjustable and it sticks down a ways beyond the bottom of shorter pockets. But these are some pretty minimal downsides. Plus side is they save my tie-down straps from being cut by the pocket and/or the side of the trailer.

These are seriously heavy-duty D-rings for stake pockets. I have a Harbor Freight 1720 lb, 4x8, folding trailer. These D-ring adapters feel like they weigh almost as much the trailer. The rings are huge and they feel like you could strap down anything to them. For the HF trailer I have to make a modification to them though. These come designed for the clevis pin to go through the side of the stake pocket, running parallel to the trailer frame. On the HF trailer the stake pockets are designed for the clevis pin to run perpendicular to the trailer frame and go through the stake pocket and trailer frame. I'm not sure whether I'm going to drill a hole in these D-ring adapters or drill two holes in the stake pockets. Drilling one hole in the D-ring adapters is simpler but the metal on these adapters is MUCH thicker than the stake pockets from Harbor Freight. So it might be easier to drill out the stake pockets. Either way, these D-ring adapters will be a welcome addition to my trailer!
