I purchased this bed before there were any reviews posted here, and I'm glad I did. I went on the Etsy website for this seller and was confidant in my purchase based on those reviews. Solid wood furniture is my preference, and these beds are solid pine. Someone handcrafted this, just like if you had carpentry skills and built something in your garage. We just built shelving, a hood and a large microwave base cabinet for our kitchen. So ... This product was no different. This is a product that is mostly finished. Once the beds arrive, you need to do some sanding, but be careful for the curve you see in the 4th and 5th pic. That is not one piece of wood that needs to be sanded down. It is actually two pieces of wood glued together. Take caution not to over sand the connection with the smaller piece. Once you're done sanding, you can build, paint or stain first. We decided to build. One person can build this, but it's better with a 2nd person holding the connections closely together, while the other person puts the screws in. After the build, I decided to use some stain I had on hand, but I'll probably paint over it when they have a final resting place. For now, we stacked the beds in a corner of the master bedroom. These will be pulled out and put wherever we need them for guests. We stacked them with a 5 inch mattress on the bottom (6 inch max) and a box spring and mattress on the top. I love how they can be two twins, or pushed together for a king. We would insert both box springs and turn the mattresses in the opposite direction when this is necessary. I carried the frames from our garage to the second floor without assistance. Despite their light weight and portability, they are very sturdy. Highly recommend these beds. ... show more

We really liked the beds however the edges of the wood aren’t finished. They are sharp and splinter ridden

Defective item. Headboards from both beds came cracked. The wood is unfinished so I got splinters because the edges are rough. Then I realized that the pieces sent were not nailed properly. If you look at the picture from the instructions they nailed the bottom part of the bed incorrectly. So basically the mattress would almost be on the ground. Waste of money! ... show more
