Needed the solenoid. That seems to work fine. Didnt test starter but i did test the cdi and that seemed to have changed the timing a little bit. Quad had a slight sputter. Nothing wrong with the old one i just figured id install it and freshen what i could up. So the cdi may not work well.

Hooked it up and it started right away and used it for a few hours. The next day my son used it the next day for 45 minutes then had lunch, came back out to use it again and the starter was shot.

It's cheap Chinese stuff as expected but it worked out of the box. I recommend comparing your postive power cable prior to install. If you try to remove the cable with starter installed, the screw head can strip rather easy. Also the positive terminal is connected to an internal plastic brush assembly. Too much torque on the terminal can damage internals. I recommend swapping the battery cable before install as required and hold the terminal while loosening the screw to prevent damage. ... show more
