I love this! You can see it go on which helps with application. The applicator mitt really helps too. I also realized it works better if you don't skimp. You have more risk of streaks if you are sparse with it than if you use enough to cover each section. The color isn't orange at all. I have gotten so many complements on my tan with this stuff, and I am a glowing white normally. It does darken throughout the day, and last probably 3 days. I do smell it on the day I put it on. or your hands will be stained. Trust me, I tried to apply using my bare hands, but they were stained from this product. On the other hand, this tanner is the BEST I've ever used. I am Irish, green eyed, and fair skinned...this goes on looking too dark, but it is because it has a guide color for application. I use the mitt to apply, then wash out the mitt with soap, putting it on top of the bottle standing up in the shower overnight to dry. This lasts for a good five days on me. Be sure to exfoliate well before applying. I'll usually put on and go to sleep in a long sleeved top to avoid transfer. Works like an absolute charm. Easy-to-use and I do find that it is extremely foolproof. Great for beginners. The color is natural, albeit olive. It dries quickly in the sense you can apply the product in head to bed straight away, yet it doesn't dry quick to the point you're left with streaks. And even if you do notice a streak, after you wash it off the next day/once it has developed the streaks are gone. It gives me a light tan. I go from an NC15 to NC20-25 with a coat. Lasts less than or up to a week, depending upon how careful you are in the shower scrubbing. It can fade it patches, but it's not too bad like St. Moriz. ... show more

So, I don't review products and I've purchased a lot of items from Amazon, like many of you have. I'm taking the time to give St.Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Mousse a review because I believe it deserves one. I have tried tons of tanning products. For over 30+ years, I've been trying to look tan. I've used Fake Bake for several years and love it. I just recently tried St. Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Mousse and was seriously blown away by the results. Reviews say its a subtle tan and they are correct, if you apply it only one time. If you apply it a few times, it becomes darker. I have VERY light skin, like pale white. Everything I've tried made me orange...like pumpkin orange. The only product I've loved for years is Fake Bake. It has somewhat of an orange tone, but was the least orange of all of the products I tried until St. Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Mousse. Wow, what a great product, for me. Everyone is different and has different results. I personally never thought I'd find a tanning product that would not look orange...until St. Tropez. It really is that great. From application to result, its wonderful. Application is easy and the smell is barely there with a subtle pleasant scent. I think every tanning product has some type of unpleasant scent but that just goes along with the tanning product process. Just use extra perfume or scented body spray. It does stain clothes a little but after my initial application, I wear dark clothes and then there is no issue. I am impressed and I'm not easily impressed. I'm very picky with all beauty products and have to try several to find the one that works best for me. That includes.....makeup, hair products, nail products, skin care and tanning products. I am relentless and my goal is to always find the best products I can. Hopefully, St. Tropez won't be discontinued like some of my favorite beauty products have been in the past. I love this tanning mousse and despite the high-end price, I feel it is well worth it because it is that good. I will continue to use St. Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Mousse as my primary tanning product and my back up will be Fake Bake. Check out my photo. I am one of those women that slathered baby oil on myself and layed in the sun for hours as a teen then graduated to tanning beds. Now at almost 65 I have no desire to keep putting my old skin through that. Fortunately I found this stuff and there's no going back! There is a small learning curve in how to use it but seriously, this stuff is the best. I have tried so many fake tanners and the color was weak and the smell strong. I love that you almost immediately "have a tan" and it just gets better. I've seen a few complaints about the color being a bit on the green side but for me the color is perfect. As a tanning connoisseur, I've been through many products. I started out with the inexpensive ones because I initially refused to pay so much for a self-tanner, but after going through many (Jergan's, Neutrogina, Fake Bake) I found something wrong with each of them and I was still trying to find a product that was better than the last one. I think St. Tropez is by far the best self-tanner and is worth the money. Pros: No awful smell, the color dries perfectly natural, no orange residue, lasts for around 7-12 days. I use the Skinerals applicator which is amazing (your tan will only look as good as your applicator works, don't use the cheap ones) I also use an Elf kabuki makeup brush sometimes, it takes longer but blends really well! ... show more

No matter how much I shake this can, it does not come out as mousse. Instead it's a dark brown runny substance that is basically unusable. I've purchased and used a larger can of this stuff, and it has been fine. But this smaller can is a complete waste of money. Is it old? Was it stored incorrectly?
