Read reviews about many different self tanners and this one seemed to have the best reviews as well as one of the purchased most often. As like many reviews suggested, exfoliating beforehand is important. I bought some exfoliating gloves from EcoTools, which made my skin so soft, I’m already very soft and use quality body cream daily but the exfoliating was nice regardless and I’ll continue to do so. Use a good lotion after the shower/bath and exfoliating, especially if you have dry areas like knees, elbows and heels. I don’t have those issues but I can see why it’d make a difference. Then use gloves, I didn’t even buy the mitt, just used new rubber kitchen dish gloves I had forgotten about. They worked perfectly and also so my hubs could help with the areas I couldn’t reach. Spread evenly and allow to dry. I’m on my second day and I’ve already developed a nice natural color to my skin. Winter causes me to become so pale and I’m going to a nice tropical vacay soon and do not want to be super pale upon arrival, I’m preparing so I can also use a nice bronze body shimmer once I develop a real tan, which I’m prepared with sunscreen with glow as well. Highly highly recommend this product! I’ll be purchasing again and have no complaints at all! No problems with an orangey tint like some self tanners. It literally looks like my skin does after a couple days on the summer pool time. I love it! Oh, and I’m on my second day, showered (did not exfoliate) like normal and did everything else like first day. It didn’t really wash off but slightly lightened when I showered and used my regular loofah. To be expected. Didn’t lighten to the point where the first application was a waste. I still retained most of the color, I knew it was going to take a few days to build the tan level I desire. But this! It’s a big bottle and goes a long way! Just make sure to wear gloves of some type and you’ll need help spreading to the back area you can’t reach unless you can figure out a clever workaround! The pictures are me on vacation in Mexico late Jan this year, coming straight from a cold and winters climate. I don’t believe in laying out and developing a natural tan anymore, mainly due to aging, skin damage, all the obvious negative effects of direct sun exposure and I have little patience as it is. I prepped and built this color a few days prior to leaving and was so overjoyed with the natural results!

As someone new to self-tanning, the thought of a clear self-tanner was quite scary to me, but after seeing a lot about this product online I decided to give it a shot, and I am glad I did! These are photos of me with the tan and without; The last photo is how I looked when I woke up after having it on for 10 hours. Here are my final thoughts on the product alongside some tips! Non-Transfer Formula (5/5): One of the best qualities of this product is the excellent non-transfer formula, which deserves 5 stars. You can go about the rest of the day without stressing that your new tan will transfer to your clothing, furniture, or anything else you touch. If you're nervous about attracting attention to yourself while you're out and about, this clear gel is the perfect alternative to common tanning mousses with guide colors that might leave you looking like a giraffe. Comfortable Wear (5/5): Another huge plus is the comfort factor. Once this tanning gel dries, you won't feel like you've been ensnared in a sticky web. I've even dared to wear it outdoors without feeling like a bronzed oddball (which can happen with tinted tanning products). Sleeping in it is a breeze too; it won't transfer onto your sheets or clothing, allowing you to leave it on as long as you wish. Plus, it imparts a lovely, natural glow that's sure to turn heads. User-friendly (3/5): I must admit, this one took some time to get the hang of. It's marketed as an easy alternative to mousse, but its transparency makes it a bit trickier. Application Tips: So firstly, buy a tanning mitt, any tanning mitt! This is not a job for bare hands or latex gloves, trust me I have tried! I also apply hydrating moisturizer all over my body before application and wait around 10 minutes for it to soak in. On the areas that are tough, (elbows, knees, and ankles) I use heavier moisture. I personally use "EIGHT HOUR CREAM SKIN PROTECTANT" by Elizebeth Arden, and it has been a game changer. I use makeup brushes on my face, hands, and knees. So when I first started using this I did notice it not going well around my feet/ankles and hands, but that's because of poor application. My advice for those areas is to really really blend it around with a small makeup brush, and smooth it over with a mitt. For my hands, I try very hard to put it on carefully with a makeup brush, and then I use wet wipes on my palm to make sure it doesn't get there. Once I shower if I see some blotches on my hand, I use an exfoliating mitt to take it right off. One other good thing about this product is that it is easy to remove with an exfoliator. Double Glow Trick: If you want more of a guide, I mix L’Oréal Paris Sublime Bronze with this gel, around a ratio of 1:4. It creates such a nice glow together!

I've been using various tanners lately to prep for my upcoming wedding because I burn every time I go outside. I've used different variations of jergens, and other brands, which I really like. But I don't love them. This is my first time using b. tan. And I love this gel! At first, it has a weird smell but once you apply it to your skin, it gives the beloved self tanner smell that I'm obsessed with. I've applied it three times since I got it. It's an amazing color. Easy to put on especially if you have a mitt. You might think that you don't need to prep your ankles, knees, wrists, hands and elbows. I'm here to tell you you do. I should have known better. With all my experience with different tanning lotions, I should have been more careful. But my hands look good, even with extra tanner in the creases. Definitely wash your hands afterwards even if you're using a mat. I realized that I need to update my mitt now because it's very thin. I missed some spots on my feet, as you can see in the 2nd to last picture that makes my foot look like a hoof instead. But that's fixable. This is easy to apply, but the only reason I'm giving it four stars is I had to use a lot. I mean, a lot. (I'm 5'3" 150lbs for reference). The final picture of the bottle is after only three uses. Luckily it's a decent price, and worth it. Oh, and it really does moisturize as promised. I'm obsessed.
