If I could give it 0 Stars I would. I as many other St. Croix owners have found, they are not what they used to be. I would compare it to a brittle toothpick. I hope I can get a refund on this from St. Croix. Drove 2 hours to fish and trip was cut short. Fish might have weighed 3 lbs max. It will be the last St. Croix in my collection. ... show more

As with all st croix rods it’s a joy to fish with. I run a 2000 series reel with 12 lb braid it’s a very sensitive fast action rod

Not sure if it was the delivery service fault or the packaging. This rod came in with the tip broken. Good thing getting a replacement is a breeze. That is why rating is not lower. I can tell it will be a nice rod, but durability will probably be questionable.
