I use this oil filter wrench to change the oil on my girlfriend’s 2013 Toyota Corolla. The original one I had from WalMrt broke when someone else was using it, so I bought this one as a replacement. Seems made well, but you don’t want to use it with an impact wrench or drill. Use with a breaker bar or a regular 3/8 wrench. And don’t forget to remove the metal clip on the oil filter housing BEFORE using this wrench. A lot of people forget that step and then wonder why they can’t get the housing off. This wrench grips the cap of the housing well, the slots fit right over the notch like they’re supposed to, and there’s NO play once it’s seated properly. The wrench can get stuck on the cap when you’re putting it back on, so if that happens, just apply some pressure the opposite way of how you just tightened it, and that should release the pressure enough to wiggle the wrench off the cap.

Does not work for stuck caps. The 3/8” female fitting was so soft that it started deforming when I was tugging by-hand with a regular socket wrench— no breaker bar, no cheater. The photo of the stripped socket is after I switched to a breaker bar. Instead of asking for a refund, I’m just leaving this review to warn others. I did not have an issue in previous oil changes, but last time I let the Kent, Ohio Toyota dealership change my oil filter when I had the Avalon in for service, and the dealership tightened the cap beyond the capability of this socket.
