My previous fridge wasn't handling the humid weather very well and the little "freezer" shelf in the top corner would turn into a solid block of ice within a week and become unusable. Not only that, but it also seemed to prevent the rest of the fridge from chilling properly (perhaps because airflow was blocked). I've got my new Avanti installed. First of all, it is very quiet. I only notice when it turns on or off, and then it's only a quiet click that is easily ignored. It's installed right in my bulkhead a few feet away from me so I'd notice if it was noisy. I had no trouble swapping the door hinge side as soon as I received it. Popped off a few plastic rivets, removed a few screw-in bolts and placed them in the other side and I was done in less than 10 minutes. The interior layout is a big plus for me. I didn't need a freezer, really. And having it in the top corner meant I couldn't easily access the shelf in the back or the left side very easily. This new model has no freezer shelf, just vents in the back to circulate the cold air. I can reach every part of the interior despite the fridge being mounted in my bulkhead over the stove-top on my boat. And the small middle-shelf is a lot more useful than I expected, as it turns out there's lots of little jars and such that would have eaten up a lot of space on a full-size shelf that are right at home here. Lots of room and gets cold,but it actually gets cold spots that will freeze some can solid and leave others not as cold. Granted I have it pretty full due to it being used in an rv. Temperature knob is a little hard to figure out.
