I got this because I wanted a way to exercise at home and I already had a bike. I found it easy to set up following a video I found on youtube. I can put my bike in front of the TV and get exercise in the privacy and comfort of my own home without having to drive to the gym! If I want to ride outdoors it is very easy to change out the thingy that keeps your back tire attached to your bike and take it on the road. I am not a road biker, more of a pleasure cruiser. Not sure if I would be happy with this if I were trying to seriously train for a race but rest assured! I will never train for a race. This is exactly what I needed.

Update Dec 2020: After using my trainer for several months it developed an issue. I contacted Sportneer customer support. I received their response quickly and after a brief exchange of additional information Sportneer shipped a replacement trainer to me. I'm really impressed with their responsiveness and customer service, in addition to the good value of their product. I don't write many product reviews but this deserves a good one! - - - - - I had been using a fan-based resistance trainer from a well known bike trainer manufacturer. While it worked well, it was noisy. I took a chance on this Sportneer magnetic trainer based on the good reviews on Amazon. It has exceeded my expectations. It works smoothly and it is super quiet. With my old trainer I had to wear over-the-ear headphones to drown out the noise when I listened to music. With the Sportneer I can use my AirPods and I can barely hear the noise from the trainer. I gave it four stars for Sturdiness. Compared to the big-name brand it replaces, it does seem a little more lightly built, but I'm not using this to train for 100 mile bike rides. I typically hop on to get my 30-40 minutes of exercise during the winter months, and I think it's going to hold up just fine for that. If your needs aren't that of a pro or long distance cyclist, I can highly recommend this trainer.

This setup relatively easy (although the isntructions weren't super helpful, not much words, just lots of pictures). It seems to get the job done, although it is a tad noisy. We'll have to keep playing around with the intensity settings to see if we can't find a sweet spot (using it on a mountain bike). It's cool that it comes with a quick-release axle bar if you use a road high-end bike. I mean, I'm sure it'd be cool for someone who uses such a bike, but for us, it's just a nice little part sitting on the floor by the unit. Overall we're happy for the quality and durability in comparison to the price paid.

I am so happy with this! It is surprisingly stable (I’m 200 lbs!) and pretty quiet (I have road tires). It was very simple to set up with one little hitch. The handle that screws in the back was pointed the wrong way and very stiff to move- I was afraid I would break something. It took me a few minutes to realize it did need to be pointed the other way and I had to apply some pressure (assuming just because it was all new and a bit stiff). After I sorted that it was super easy! I took a chance with the less expensive trainer; others are 3 times as much; and I’m super happy with it.

I think the price is really no that good but is to much noise generated by the vibration of plastic pieces on the magnets overall is not that good if you really want someting much more silent buy one direct drive because the friction whit the wheel is what makes the most of the noise. buy something like CycleOps Hammer Direct Drive Smart Trainer.

I was looking around at different bike trainers and was quite frankly mortified by the huge price differences! This product came highly reviewed so I decided to make the buy. I set it up EASILY, and appreciate the inclusion of the wheelbase stand for the front which was *included!* Please don't judge my basement, but the sports trainer is easy to install and implement. I quickly understood how much to adjust the resistance for my starting bicycling and am very pleased with the product. It is well-made, well-oiled, and my wife already can attest that it's been doing it's job!

Not very noisy and pretty easy to assemble, but didn't last very long. I'm not a freak of nature, but after a couple weeks of using this trainer, it started to smoke and make weird noises. I'm guessing something got messed up with the plates or the magnets. As I mentioned, I am not a competitive biker by any means, so I was using it once every couple of days with a 30 minute normal effort workload, and yet it failed after a few weeks. Unfortunate for sure, but if you want quality, better spend more money.

You will replace the bike's rear axle with the one provided but it's pretty easy. Really sturdy and, despite other reviews, it's quiet. Works best using the supplied tensioner. Changing gears on the bike increases noise level. I've recommended the Sportneer to my biking friends.
