    • Nobody beats WIX.
There are a lot of "premium" oil filters out there, but there's a lot more to a filter than a pretty package. Wix filters are still the best after all these years in terms of micronic filtration, in other words, they catch smaller particles. Wix filters put the bypass at the bottom, not the top of the filter. When the bypass valve opens under high pressure, if it's at the top of the filter, your oil will be contaminated as it flows over the dirty media to get to the bypass. However, having the bypass at the bottom, when it opens, the contaminants in the filter don't get re-introduced into the crankcase. Metal Construction -- not just on the outside. Wix filters use metal end caps and a metal core which don't collapse under heat like nylon or under pressure like cardboard. Almost all other filter brands use cardboard endcaps and a nylon core. This just doesn't work. Wix doesn't use a nylon core or cardboard end caps, they're metal like the should be Whether it's hot or cold, Wix filters effectively filter your oil from the first mile until the last mile. Let's face it guys, we love our rides. Whether its that 2011 BMW or that 1991 Firebird sitting in the driveway, us guys have a passion for cars and we treat them like they were one of our own kids. So why in the world would you use an inferior oil filter on your baby? WIX filters just plain rock -- they are designed to keep your engine in top shape by getting rid of the gunk from your oil that can damage your engine. You'd be surprised what finds its way into your oil -- do you really want to trust a cheapo oil filter to protect your ride? WIX filters have been a favorite of mine for years because of the quality and the customer service. They have always been there to answer any question I have -- even the dumb ones!
