I just got this reel and only used it for a few months. First off, I was throwing jigs and was surprised on how far I was casting on a 1/2oz and 3/4oz lures. It only took about 25 mins until I hooked a very nice sized yellowfin croaker that had some power. The fish took drag and the reel performed very nice and the drag worked great. When the croaker took line the reel dished it out smoothly and natural. As you can see, I also have caught multiple halibut, calico bass and even a white seabass. I also own a Shimano Socorro and I feel both reels have a very similar feel, which I like. The only difference is the Socorro is bigger and stronger and made for heavier line. This reel is perfect and I used 20 pound braid on it. I highly recommend this reel so far and will update only if I experience frustration, lack of durability, or any other inconveniences which I font expect. ... show more

There's a review here that says this reel is dunkable. It is not. The "SW A" model is IPX8 rated but that's a different reel alltogether. If you dunk this one in saltwater like I did, you're taking every piece of it apart. There was water in the gearbox and parts of the anti-reverse clutch were rusted out after one dunk and a good rinse. ... show more
