    • Small and powerful tanning light
This is a portable, sturdy, and powerful tanning device. I like the fact that it's fully an analog device and there's nothing digital about it. Because of this it's simple to use and won't be breaking anytime soon. It's very powerful at delivering UV so PAY ATTENTION TO THE INSTRUCTIONS or risk having to break out the aloe vera gel. Used as directed, this is a great tanning device, and I made use of it frequently during those cold dark winter months when sunlight on my skin was a distant memory. I'm a big believer in getting some UV rays for my health and don't mind a little tan, which the Sperti will definitely deliver, but I'm in it for the health aspects mostly. Don't let anyone tell you that UV will hurt your health but instead be aware that not having it will likely hurt your health more. Everything in moderation, of course. I originally thought of building my own UV device, which is possible, but I'm glad I went with the Sperti. It's a solid little device, simple and effective at what it does, and it takes very little time at all to deliver a healthy dose of UV, which I really appreciate. In a few short words, I'm thrilled with my purchase. To expound, this lamp is very well made and comes expertly packed. It's easy to assemble, comes with detailed and helpful instructions, and is simple to operate. Because of the intensity of the lamp, the guidelines in the manual should definitely be followed. If you follow the instructions, your expectations will be met, as the result of being tan after short and consistent sessions is achieved. Along with the product's quality and performance, I think it's noteworthy that the amount of support offered upfront is something that provides peace of mind. I've not experienced any issues, but feel that if I did, Sperti would be there to help out quickly because of the messaging included with the product. Lastly, for anyone wondering about the price, it's an investment in yourself and is a high quality product. If you look at end-use cost vs. upfront price, the value is incredibly high. With the long life expectancy of the included bulbs, the cost per session is easily worthwhile and you get to use this in the comfort of your home.     • Really Impressive Machine!
I hardly leave reviews unless I'm upset, but I made the decision to review this I've because I am trying impressed. I really didn't think much of this device and figured it would be a cheaply made 'toy' that wouldn't meet my expectations - but boy was I wrong. This easily maneuverable device really packs a punch, and works so much better then I thought that I now only need to use it twice a week for 5 to 8 minutes to keep a deeply, nice darker tone at all times. I got compliments from friends and family on my tone as well, as others noticed a more youthful, healthy look which was really surprising. I'm very happy with my purchase and it's well worth the investment by humble opinion. It works fast, effectively and easily; a great product all around.     • Love the lamp, but timer stopped working after 2nd use.
I have mixed feelings about leaving this review. I love the product, but there are flaws. It is very easy to get tanned from this product. I purchased it because I get skin infections (fungal) every Winter and the medications no longer work for me. I am in the sun in Florida most of the year, but in Winter I do not get out in the sun enough to kill off the fungus that attacks me. UV kills it. So I bought this to keep it under control over the Winter and as a side reason, to keep me tan through the Winter months. I am very dark all Summer long and hate when Winter comes and I start to turn into a pasty white boy. First, let me say that if you are not getting color from this, you are either an ALIEN or you are sitting across the room from it. These bulbs emit UV light in rather large quantities, and there is no way that you will not get tan, unless you genetically CAN NOT get tan. In which case, it is not the fault of the product. I still had a very good tan when I used it first, and I managed to get a burn. I figured my skin could take it since I almost never burn from the sun and have a good tan. I added a couple minutes to the time, which might have been fine, but realized later I was too close to the bulbs. If I burned with a healthy tan on darker skin, please be careful if you are fair skinned. Start with just one minute per area. Adjust up by 30 seconds a day until you feel a TINY bit of tenderness about an hour after treatment. So, the bulbs work very well. It is easy to set up. The metal housing is a very good quality. But..... If you need the timer, good luck. Mine quit working after the second treatment. I set it for 6 minutes, so I could do 2 minutes each on 3 different areas. The 3rd day it stopped at the 4 minute mark. So I have no timer. For me this is not a problem since I can just count it out in my head. It works as a form of meditation, so I don't really miss the timer. But for most people, the timer is going to be really important. Also, at the price you are paying, you would think that something as inexpensive as the timer, should actually last longer than 2 days. I mean, you can buy an egg timer for $2 and they last for 30 years. So I hate to disparage a product that I love and depend on, but it would not be fair to other consumers to give it 5 stars. ... show more
