I have bought 2 of these now to use to support a couple of GM 6.5 turbo diesels. I was concerned that they would be strong enough to handle the weight of the diesel engines, which weigh about 100 lbs more than the Chevy 454/Big Block. The GM diesel uses the same bolt hole pattern so these bolted right up. The only downside is the oil pan of the 6.5 diesel is deeper than the gas engines and it projects below the bottom of the stand. I solved this by screwing a couple of 2x4s into an "L" shape as long as the bottom rails. I bolted the stand to the engine, then set it on the lower 2x4. The 1 1/2" additional height was enough for the pan to clear. I then drilled though the wood at the holes already on the rail and screwed the wood to it. I gave it 4 stars because an extra 3 inches of metal total would allow this to fit on the 6.2/6.5 series diesl engines as well without having to build a stand... even so I do recommend this product.

This is a great, simple engine stand. I originally used the type of dolly that bolts to the bellhousing face and the motor mount bosses. This made it impossible to mount bellhousing on the engine. If you will need to mount the bellhousing to check for runnout, or want to mate your trans to you block for storage, just get this stand first. Dont water $35 on the other kind.
