Description

Spectre air intake systems are designed to increase horsepower and torque in your vehicle, while also working to protect your engine from harmful contaminants and debris. Took me about 1.5 hours to install. Directions were a little confusing. Product looks great and worth the money. Make sure you have the T20 “tamper proof” Torx.

The media could not be loaded. You can tell the truck turbo whistles significantly louder now, I’ll post a video of it running with windows up. I can tell about 1.5-2 mpg gain on fuel. I was a little disappointed that the rubbers that go around it were a little short and didn’t seal all the way tightly around it from the engine side but with me buying an additional seal and adding to it I was able to get it sealed nicely. Also the screws that held my factory air sensor on were security screws so I had to by a security bit to do that but that’s not the filters fault, I’d just recommend ordering one at the same time to save money over the $30 set I had to get at the part store. I did read some bad reviews about the filter vibrating off the box adapter which I did have a problem with. 3 times I had to get under the hood to find the filter had popped off. So I used a hot glue gun to just put a few small drops of hot glue around that ring. So with the hot glue being rubbery or grippy when it is dry, the filter has just an additional grip verses the completely smooth beveled plastic surface. And it hasn’t come off so that’s why I put 4 stars for the install. It’s definitely good quality stuff but I think that adapter could use some factory notching or something to give it some grip. Still happy for the money if your handy and have a couple hours to tweak it, it’sa great thing. Waited 3 times longer than expected for delivery. Instructions weren’t great. Filter will not stay on at all. It falls right off the housing. Reviews online say to sand it (rough it up) and all sorts of other suggestions like hair spray to make it stay on! It’s junk, I tightened it down so many times in 1 day that the rubber on the filter just broke making it even more useless. I absolutely don’t recommend this product. Excellent packaging, high quality product. Came with clear instructions that include pictures and even a required tool list. Took maybe 20 minutes to install, looks fantastic in my 2004 6.0l SuperDuty. Will provide update after adding some miles :)

I put it on a 06 f350 6.0 pickup. I live in the northwest s anyway i leave my town i go up hill. New air filters are 75 dollars so I thought i would try this and sence i had one on another pickup and work great. So i get 2.5 more miles to the gallon all around. It was ik to install. I don't do fill out commets but i like this product for the money i get out of it. It's doing what I got it for ... show more

    • Filter will not stay on
I really wish I could give this a better review. The instructions were confusing, but I know my engine well enough that I was able to figure it out. The biggest problem I haven't solved yet tis that the filter will not stay on where it supposed to. The intake side is tapered which makes the problem worse. There are ribs around the end of the filter to help it grip, but the intake side is completely smooth. I tightened the large hose clamp as much as I could, without destroying it, but the filter still slips off. I emailed the company to get some help, so I may update this review, but for now I'm leaning heavily on returning it. ... show more
