  • GET THIS PUMP
I went through a rough time in the beginning of my breastfeeding journey. I also got a Elvie Stride double breast pump through my insurance and it is AWFUl. After a recommendation from my lactation nurse, she recommended this pump and I have NO regrets. It pulls my milk supply so easy, and it doesn't hurt. I look forward to using this pump for the next year and to keep it for future use! Please get this pump you will not be disappointed. Just make sure you get your nipples measured by your lactation nurse, so you can have the correct flanges for it. I did have to buy 2 sets of different flanges for each breast because both of my nipples were a different size. ... show more

  • Quiet, easy to use
I love how quiet this pump is! I used a Medela with our first two and needed a new pump for our third. I like this better due to the price point and ease of use. The settings are a little different than the Medela, so there's a learning curve. I looked on YouTube for a "how to" video and figured out the rest on my own. The one thing that doesn't make sense to me is that the let-down setting is the second option on the pump - when it first turns on, it's in regular mode, so you have to switch it eat time to simulate the let-down feature. I really like how easy it is to clean. Although this isn't marketed as a travel system, it wouldn't be diffcult to use on the go. You'd want to make sure you had access to an outlet (a portable battery pack didn't come with this system). It's light weight. It also comes with two different sized flanges, which is great if you're not sure what size you need. ... show more

  • Trash
Pump randomly stops pumping. You can hear it trying but something is wrong with it, then it'll pump like twice, then nothing for 10 to twenty "pumps" then two or so, then nothing...I JUST BOUGHT IT. I've used it three times. It's also a lot to take it apart and clean it and I have to use a spoon to get the little silicone nub off off of the bottom of the flange part because there's not a great way to grab and pull it without damaging it. ... show more

  • Happy with item
I'm a new mother of a 2 month old so I'll speak to the limited experience I have. I think product is great. There is a night light option, which is awesome for when the room is dark. It is quiet. Once I left it on by accident for a little bit cause I couldn't tell it was on. There is the option for 1 or 2 pumps at one time. There is a circle to attach your one, or two tubes to to pump. When the second isn't being used, you seal the suction with a cap. And to my pleasure the small cap is attached to unit, I was worried I'd lose it before I realized it is connected. My only only complaint is the angle I need to be at to pump my milk. However, I think that is just a breast pump thing, but I have to lean almost all the way over, and it hurts my back, and it's really hard to feed baby on other breast while I do it. ... show more

  • Beats the PISA & Purely yours. Saved milk supply
When I had my first my goal was to make it a year breast feeding. When I went back to work after 3 months, I used the purely yours and wasn’t emptying no matter what setting I tried. I went ahead and bought the PISA. I again never fully emptied but thought this was the best I could get for a pump.. wrong. I made it just 7 months and my supply was gone sadly, despite staying hydrated, eating lactation cookies, pumping every 3 hours regularly and EBF when I was with baby. I had our second and immediately began researching another pump after returning to work with the PISA and still feeling I wasn’t emptying. Found out about the spectra s2 and figured it isn’t a high price point so I would try. I AM SO GLAD I DID! Now going on 8.5 months and always pump at least 1 ounce more then I ever did with the others. This pump single handedly saved my supply and still has me going. Plus it’s lighter and quieter. Buy it. It’s worth it. ... show more

  • Great quiet pump with a timer! Wish I had got this first instead of Medela PISA!
Love this pump. I've been using the PISA for 5 1/2 months, and this pump is more comfortable and seems to pump more milk. One of my favorite features is the timer, which tells you how long you've been pumping. I no longer have to wonder how long I've been pumping or keep track of the time on my phone! This pump is also incredibly quiet compared to the PISA. On the lower settings, you can barely hear it. The night light is also cool, but I have yet to use it. Since I was using a Medela pump previously, I have a bunch of Medela bottles. I purchased some adapters that fit those bottles to the Spectra flanges, and they work perfectly. The Avent Natural bottles also fit on the Spectra flanges. For those wondering, I received the pump, power cord, 2 bottles, 2 nipples/lids, 2 24mm flanges, 2 28 mm flanges, 2 duckbill valves, and 2 tubes. I wish I had tried to get this through my insurance instead of the Medela PISA, but it was totally worth purchasing! ... show more

  • Best pump for low supply
I struggled with low milk supply when my son was a newborn and I really wish I knew about this pump sooner. Its action is more gentle than medela pisa but it is so so much more effective. I get 3-4 let downs with this vs 1-2 with medela. I now exclusively pump and produce over 30 oz daily. Only difference between s1 and s2 is that the s1 is portable so I have that one at home and the s2 at work. It is also very quiet compared to medela. The spectra is truly a closed system because of the backflow protectors. The accessories are kind of expensive but I think that's bc it is relatively new to the US market. Highly recommend this pump. ... show more

  • Relatively okay product
Product works relatively okay. The plastic flange hurts my breast upon removal after each pumping session (I have large breast, so flange size could contribute to this problem). Only three downsides to this, 1) I wish it had a portable option so that the breast pump could work without having to remain plugged in, 2) that they were compatible with my Dr. Browns Wide Neck Bottles. I often find myself having to either lower the vacuum suction or completely end the pumping cycle to transfer over the milk into my milk storage bags/Dr. Browns bottles and having to restart the whole cycle again. The omission of a pause option on this pump is a petpeeve but can be worked around. 3) I find that only one setting works with me and is the only setting that can retrieve milk quickly but is a bit painful on my nipples. Overall, I might switch to the Dr. Browns breast pumping machine in the future just to compare my results but for now, the product is getting the job done. ... show more
