Easy to put together and fun to paint. All the predrilled holes lined up well. Great project for kids or young at heart, the wood is fairly smooth so doesn’t actually need to be sanded before painting. You will need some sort of hook to hang it because it only comes with a key ring to hold the ropes together at top. The actual portion that holds the bird seed is fairly shallow can hold a few cups of seed.

I ordered this as a bonding activity for my boyfriend and his son to put together. Turns out his son isn't into becoming a carpenter when he grows up anymore because he wasn't very enthusiastic about the project. His dad was able to get him to assemble some of it with him, but he quit shortly after they started to paint it. My boyfriend decided to just go ahead and spray paint it since it would be faster to finish. I think it turned out good. All that's left for us to do is get some birdseed and hang it up outside. So, I guess you could say the directions were simple and easy to follow because it was put together in about ten minutes. Great project for kids to do with an adult, not so great for kids who have super short attention spans or are addicted to their technology.

This is a great summer craft! The kit came with all the necessary parts, including sandpaper to smooth the wood for better paint application. I especially appreciated that the kit included a higher-quality Allen wrench for installing screws. The easy-grip handle makes the task much easier than with your typical self-assembly tools. This is nice if you have a youngster who is eager to do it all themselves. The overall assembly wasn't complex, as there were clear instructions in the box. However, it's important to pay attention to the direction, etc. of the pieces as many attach to the main frame in multiple places. The item itself is good-sized and of nice quality. No flimsy wood here! I'm eager to see which birds we attract once we're finished painting and put it outside.

This is a super cute feeder idea and fun project but messy in practice. It's neat project to do with kids. My nieces and I assembled this and painted it. The wood is natural and sturdy so it stands up to the elements once painted. It's easy for the birds to land on, but also very easy for the squirrels to jump on. Unless you have a VERY high or very squirrel proofed pole (which IDK that they exist) the moment a squirrel gets their butt on this the seed is everywhere. That being said, it's super cute so if you don't mind the fuzzy heathens making a mess, it's an adorable addition.

This is a neat little squirrel or bird feeder KIT. You have to assemble all the pieces, but it’s very easy and designed with kids in mind. Most of the pieces are not sharp and most kids around 6 up could manager the simple tools. all the wood is pre drilled and instructions are good, but could use a little more detail. Wood pieces are sturdy and it’s surprisingly large. I need a shepherds hood to install this on my deck, but comes with a metal hanging ring that is part of the kit. There is also paint so if you want to have a colorful finished craft, you can. I’m going to leave mine natural and just put a little clear coat on it to seal the wood (which they recommend in the instructions). It comes with a hex tool that works fine until you are screwing in the leg supports, you have to keep re inserting it cuz it’s a tight squeeze.

This was a very cute little project that my kid enjoyed doing. The table is larger than I was expecting. The directions were easy to follow and the assembly was straightforward and most older kids would be fine doing it themselves, little ones will need a helping hand. The finished feeder is sturdy and feels like it will hold up to many years of use. Just remember to pick up some bird seed.

This was such a fun project for the whole family. This is a perfect project for anybody from the age of 3 to 93. This kit comes with everything you need including the wood the Sandpaper to sand some of the wood to make it a little bit smoother on the edges as well as the paint and the paintbrush in the Rope. All of the hardware is included as well, and an allen wrench to put it together. This bird feeder is very big, which I think is what makes it fun for smaller children to paint and put together. Overall it's super cute.
