So, I've been looking for good mealworms for a while. I was rehabbing a young bird and buying mealworms from pet stores. The quality of those were terrible. I decided to order in bulk, because this little birds appetite got bigger and bigger so I searched on Amazon for mealworms and found this one. I made my order and waited. They arrived in a cloth bag inside a small box. I immediately poured them into a large container to check for dead ones. I expected there to be many, however there were only 2 who didn't survive the journey. TWO!! These worms are amazing quality. They're nothing like pet store mealworms.     • Smaller worms in recent deliveries, but still best value out there
We order mealworms in addition to other live insects for our Woodhouse's Toads. 6 orders in 2 years have all been delivered with good survival rates, but the last 2 have been worms nearly half the size of the first 4. I've tried to fatten them up with vegetable scraps and grain, but they pupated before growing to a more ideal, plump size for our amphibians. Though disappointed, this is still the best deal I can find on Amazon. If anyone has advice on fattening them up more effectively I'd be grateful to learn. ... show more

I liked that The meal worms were packed so that they arrived healthy. I use the meal worms to feed wild bluebirds that come to visit my farm. It has been extremely cold at night so the bugs and worms are not around quite yet, but because we had a very hot week before this week they had started to lay their eggs. ... show more

They arrived relatively quickly...to my surprise they were just in a simple cotton bag with an egg crate. I'm used to buying them in sealed containers with substrate/shavings, so this was a little shocking. They all seemed alive and squirming around the crazy. Just a few shakes and they fall to the bottom of the bag so I'm able to open it and get out only what I want. I make sure to twist it very tightly close prior to putting the worms in my fridge for storage so I don't have any rogue worms in the fridge to discover down the road... I am using these to feed the wild birds and they are enjoyed by all. ... show more

Our blue birds have been raving about their live food. Their babies will appriciate the moisture source and the wriggling as is goes down their gapping throats.
