Its as described. Thick, American made 12 gauge cord. It tangles weird at times if you coil it up by hand, but you dont buy this for esthetic's. This cord delivers the juice ⚡️. I bought this for a 13amp electric lawn mower (kobalt) and i am glad i did. It helps the mower eat through thick grass and weeds over 6 inches high as long as you take you time without me having to worry about burning out the motor. The length (30 meters or 100ft) is great, the prongs are well made and do not bend easily when youre stretching the cord around a corner. The cords coating is thick. And as promised, the female end is illuminated to show the cord has power. The cord isnt so thick that you cant tie it up to prevent easy unplugging from the mower either. I've been using 2 of these extension cords to run electricity to my chicken coop in the backyard for the past 6 years. They are connected in the center in a water proof cover. They have not failed me and the ends still light up when there's power to them. I wish more things in life were made as strong, sturdy and reliable as these are. Their one drawback is they are really heavy to ravel up each spring when I put them away for the summer, which sometimes doesn't happen until early summer. Their only sign of wear is fading colors. Purchased the 100 ft extension to help with the snow thrower in winter. Exceptional durability in -40 degree weather during a multiple snow even within two weeks. Thicker than most extensions gave me a vibe of extra confidence in this extreme two week event. Despite being freezing and the cord is a little bit less flexible during this time the ease of use and installation is not sways by weather. The fit for storage requires extra room and patience. As it requires a little extra effort to wind due to weight and thickness. Well worth the added effort. Bought this shorter cord for the feral friends who sleep on the porch. With the edition of a three prong exterior heavy duty split am able to provide a warm electric bowl, and two heating pads for their faux fur self heating beds in the tiny houses. Well, I gotta say, I'm impressed. Its not too often that you find things made in America anymore. But when you make something in America, you feel a sense of pride in your product. And as a customer, we feel a sense of pride, owning a product made in America. When I first lifted the box off my porch, I was like, "Dang, this thing is heavy!" According to the listing, this cord bundled up, weighs in 12.5 pounds, but it feels like 20-pounds when lifting it. Forget about coiling this thing up on your arm, your's will never hold out unless your the HULK. Either coil this on the ground, or get a cord reel for this. The cable is most certainly very durable! You feel that not only in the weight of the cable, but also you can see it in its manufacturing. Thick protective outer jacket, 12-gauge stranded copper wire conductors, fully insulated, and appear to be well terminated at the ends. The plug ends are clear, and they light up which is the latest standard. The plugs make a solid tight fit when connected and didn't give me any trouble. This cable easily can handle 15-AMPS continuous without getting warm. This cable is designed to handle that load up to 100'. Always use the proper sized cable for the job. The longer the cable you go, the more your resistance will be. If you have a tool that requires 15-AMPS, you can serve that tool up to the first 100' of 12-Gauge cable. If you need to go beyond that, say 200 feet, due to the extra level of resistance, you would have to upgrade to an 8-Gauge cable. This cable does appear to be indeed contractors grade, I love the quality build construction. I personally really love the fact its made in America. This cable has served me well so far, and I haven't had any problems with it. I am going to have to give it a solid 5 out of 5 stars. "Heavy Duty" classification cable. ... show more
