I have a 3500 watt generator for emergency use. Like all generators, it's made in China. The design of the generator is very practical, but it has one code violation that concerns me. The generator has two standard three-prong 115V outlets that are protected by a single 30 amp circuit breaker. That allows the full output of the generator to be carried into the house on a 10 gauge cable. Specifically, the cable is the all copper 100 foot AgriPro sold here on Amazon. My concern is that any one device can draw up to 30 amps before the breaker on the generator trips. So, I use a passive three-way splitter inside the house to send runs to the kitchen, living room, and basement. Each of the three runs is terminated by one of these Dewenwils splitters. Hopefully, the 15 amp breaker in the Dewenwils splitter will trip if ever needed. I haven't taken off a star for this, but it would be much better if the splitter also included ground fault protection. ... show more

I love that you attach your own extension cord. Very rugged. I like the layout better than a power strip. I also like that it does not have one of those rocker circuit breakers that are too easy to accidentally turn off just by barely bumping.
