Despite the many, many negative reviews on this product, I ordered it anyway, hoping that I could prove them wrong. Well, I think I did. We received this dresser earlier than expected. It was purchased for our nursery as a dresser/changing table combination. First, the packaging looked damaged when I saw it on the front porch. I was really concerned until I realized that the box was packaged with additional padding around the sides/corners. It was the padding that was smashed a bit, but the box itself was in perfect condition. We took inventory of all the parts before we started to assemble, and everything was there, in flawless condition. Now, I will say the instructions are a big vague, so we read through them first, laid out the pieces in order of assembly, and made sure we had all the right tools (you will only need a hammer and a Phillips head screwdriver). It went together beautifully, and it is one SOLID piece of furniture. One piece of advice - pay attention to the letters on the pieces. I read some reviews that stated the drawers didn't line up right... we experienced that too, until we realized that there were three drawers labeled "R" and three labeled "R II." Turns out all of the "R" drawers went on the left side of the dresser and all of the "R II" drawers went on the right side of the dresser (when looking at the dresser front). Once we did this, the drawers lined up perfectly! While there are some very negative experiences with this dresser, ours was very good. I would just recommend taking your time (took me about 2.5 hours to assemble this on my own - my husband helped me move it), reading the directions, and making sure you're aware of the labels on the pieces themselves. I cannot say anything bad about this dresser - it's sturdy, has a ton of drawer space, and it's got a nice, clean look that works for our nursery. ... show more

Functional dresser for about 1 year. Then you'll start to notice the top start to "bubble" as the finish comes off the imitation wood. The finish is a smooth white. The top starts to bubble first. It starts as pin-sized holes that grow. It creates a prickly, sandpaper feel across the entire top of the dresser in patches. It has never been wiped with liquid. The bottom of drawer edges has nicked and started to peel back. Update: 3 years after purchase - The wear has gotten much worse. Paint flakes off onto clothes dropped on top. The drawers do not slide in easily, often slanting sideways and catching on the frame as you push in. The whole dresser wobbles slightly; enough to make you question putting a small flat screen TV on it. The manufacturer contacted me from my review, saying its covered under a 5 year warranty. Asked for an overwhelming amount of personal contact info with close-up pictures. Once provided, they denied the warranty and called it normal wear. They asked for a credit card to bill me and send any replacement parts. I said no thank you. The dresser is now in the trash bin. Based on the fiberboard construction, I feel lucky to have gotten 3 years out of it. I don't understand why a $250+ piece of furniture is treated like "disposable furniture", I had hoped it would last much longer than the 5 year warranty. I'm going to stick with niche furniture stores like Country Willow (Bedford, NY), Tanger Outlet stores and the like. I guess the price of shipping quality furniture doesn't make it worth selling anymore on Amazon. One star, because I truly hate what the dresser became and feel like I wasted hundreds of dollars. First of all, the box it comes in weighs 800lbs. Just kidding, not that much, but it is DEFINITELY a 2 person lift. If, like me, you got it inside with the help of someone who then promptly left, you may be dismayed to discover that the instructions indicate that assembly is also a 2 person job. Fear not gentle reader; it's a 2 person job only for the sake of your sanity - not for your physical strength. I'm a pretty good assembler and I did it by myself. As you can see in the picture it is excellent (if I do say so myself). The instructions have pretty much 0 written language. Everything is in diagrams and pictures. It's important to take your time to study these carefully for each step - you don't want to have to disassemble and redo. All said and done it took me about 4.5 hours to assemble by myself. I am not a speed assembler but Im not Timmy Turtle either. The instructions say you need a hammer and a Philips screwdriver and music. You absolutely need all of these. Good tunes are key. Assembling by yourself will require the patience of Job, or Buddha, or one of those redwoods in California (depending on your religious preferences). Assembling with a friend may also require these things depending on the friend. This project could be a great way to test your new relationship - hahaha! Good luck there. Anyway, with 2 people working in harmony, carefully studying the directions before assembly at each step, I think you could get this done in 2 ish hours. All jokes aside, I do recommend this dresser. It is an excellent value. It is a project but if you've ever assembled IKEA furniture, or similar flat pack furniture, you can do this. Just make sure you pick the right music. ... show more
