Description

Tarantula amplifiers continue to dominate the Sound stream amplifier arsenal. For the newest 2015 generation, Sound stream maintained their stable performance, but has given them a unique appearance. Each Tarantula Electro amplifier features a 12-point RGB LED lighting system, containing its own independent RGB control. A simple press of the end panel mounted switch changes the color to one of several presets, slow-motion color change, or rapid flashing random color. For more custom installs, a single color can be selected during slow-motion color change. 2015 Tarantula Electro models include 4-channel, 1-ohm stable class D 5-channel & monoblocks, and an additional .5-ohm stable 3,000w monoblock.

  • Great budget monoblock
Just like all the other soundstream from this series, they all run great with no issues what so ever. I have had a couple of these amps. For budget amplifiers they seem great. Would reccomend doing a big 3 and adding a extra battery with good quality ofc wire. The last setup had 1/0 running to a distribution block and 4awg running to the amps. ... show more

  • Don't buy!
Well I've had the amp for just about 2 weeks and it melted my rca wires. All wiring in car is done right wich tells me that something inside the amp grounding out and grounded threw the rca wires to the deck. Thankfully my deck is still working right and my car didn't catch fire. Hopefully it was just a fluke and the replacement doesn't do the same thing. Besides this issue the amp was making my t5 tarantula 12"s hit hard af and didn't even get hot at all. Really hoping it's a fluke and the replacement works just fine. EDIT: Well the replacement amp came in and worked for a week then the rca inputs stopped receiving signal. Amp didn't go into protect mode so tried a new set of rca cables and still no signal. Hooked up my smaller amp and everything worked fine. Smaller amp wont power the 2 12" tarantula subs I have. So waiting on the now 2nd replacement making this amp number 3. If this doesn't work gonna have to go with a different brand. Sucks cause I wanted all the same brand. I have a soundstream deck and subs so wanted the matching amp. When they did work both amps had some seriojs power for sure. They just need to work and not go out in a week or 2. Will update after the 3rd amp gets here. Fingers crossed. Update 09/07/2022 this is my 3rdof the same amp in less than 3 months now. 1st went into orotect and stayed there. 2nd rca inputs went out. 3rd goes into protect every few second after working fine for 2 weeks. This seems to be the average these anos last for me. All wiring is correct even run an extra audio battery for the power these big amls draw. Was a fan of soundstream back in the but since they were bought out they seem to be garbage. I giving 1 more chance with the TXP1.6000d and hopefully it lasts if not getting a hiphonics brutus to maxh my door speaker amp. I just figure I have the tarantula t5 subs so get the amp made for them well that was a bust. Do not get this amp if you want something that lasts longer than 2 weeks. ... show more

  • Nice amp
When I got this amp it worked fantastic for about a week then no output. Contacted customer support and I sent the amp back and was refunded. Hopefully it was just a flaw in the one I received because I ordered another one (should be here in a week). Hopefully all goes well because it sounds sound so nice and looks very cool. EDIT: Got the 6000w amp. Blew my speakers with gain almost all the way down, amp is no joke. Upgrading to 2 XR15 D2s. ... show more

  • Power that melts!
Powerful. Dont be stupid and mindlessly hook one sub to this amp... It will completely melt/burn your sub down if left unchecked. Follow the power rating and match your total ohms to the power needed. It can push 2000 watts! ignoring that fact doesn't mean you should hook up a 350 watt sub to it and expect it to last.. If you only need 700 watts build a 4 ohm system, its that simple. Some further twaeking to match gain to your headamp would also benifit the longevity of your system. I say all this because ive lost two wonderful subs due to being lazy and not ensuring my system was matched correctly. Giving your speakers lots of power at the right time, like this amp, will give you the hardest hitting, cleanest sounding subs. ... show more

  • nice amp and great price
nice look, big lugs, and color changing logo. this thing has 5, yes 5 on board fuses allowing 175 amps to pass through. 1/0 gauge is recommended, although the manual states a minimum of 5 gauge? very adjustable and comes with gain control knob. ( although i dont use it. i prefer an inline gain controller as opposes to the "phone line" type) it states 2000 watts rms at 1 ohm stable.......havent actually scoped it but probably more like 1500? seen this amp advertised elsewhere for 429$ so this is a great deal, along with amazon backing it you cant go wrong! ... show more

  • A total waste of money
The 5 channel amplifier that was advertised wasn't what I received it was indeed a 1channel and not even a month it was burnt out. I'm so disappointed because I was really looking forward to having this worthing the purchase.

  • Doesn't last very long.
Provided decent power. Worked well for about a year. Then it stopped playing loud and got really quiet. The LED lights worked well. You get what you pay for.
